as of yesterday, i KNOW (for certain) what i am going to be when i'm grown up.  yesterday was my first forensic autopsy and it was everything i ever hoped for and more.

to the poor man on the table: i'm truly sorry about your tragic fall but please know that your passing brought me much peace of mind. as i held your brain, heart, and your other vital organs, as i drew your vitreous fluid, and as i examined at your severed spinal cord, i was filled with feelings of purpose and meaning. you gave me the confidence that i want to, can, and will be a pathologist.  thank you for that. i will remember you forever.
