If you don't feel the same then tell me
Even if you see only the slightest chance,
Then it's okay to try for the big celebration

                                                               Final Distance (jap/eng translation), Utada

Its definitely been one of the best weekends ever:  Brokenheart Jones @ the Fine Line, by far the best house party this side of 35W has seen in awhile, and one great night of catching up with old friends.  But as expected, there's always someone there to ruin it.  So from the top, here's the ish missing from my house after our party:

1. (6) lawn chairs
2. (4) shot glasses
3. (4) bottles of cologne
4. (1) bottle of Soco
5. (1) Nalgene bottle
6. (1) faceplate from a stereo... ?
7. (1) barbecue tongs
8. (1) bottle of lighter fluid... ?

But you know what?  I had a great time, my friends had a great time, and my roommate and I broke even on a party that cost 500 dollars - I'm happy.  Now, if someone could steal my homework from me, we'd be in great shape!

((2 kegs, 6 1.75's of Southern Comfort, 7 liters of raspberry Schnapps, 12 gallons of orange juice, 8 bottles of cranberry juice and 17 2 liters of 7 UP = 45 gallons of booze))

And I don't need you not today
I promise I'll call I promise I'll say
I don't need you not to stay
And if you ever need me I'll reciprocate

Pizza Luce + The Library = one great 21st birthday celebration for my man DP.  Though I couldn't determine who was having more fun: DP or the rest of us watching him make an ass of himself.  And mad props to Danielle, our pseudo-waitress, barback for the night.  She was a sweetheart and gave us free wings.  Now is that service or what?!

Yeah, I know I'm goin' heavy on the pics about airports but you gotta understand - I wasn't taking any pictures during my break from Xanga... but with all this time from not sleeping I get to sift through my extensive backlog of mediocre images, touch 'em up a bit, and make them look somewhat presentable.  REduce, REuse, REcycle.

Some times we forget what we got
And who we are and who we are not
I think we got a chance to make it right
Keep it loose
Keep it tight
Keep it tight

In my freshman year, there was a week where I declared a proverbial war against sleep and practiced a form of what is called polyphasic sleep.  At the time, I called it "the thing that da Vinci used to do".  The Renaissance Man himself was rumored to have only slept 15 minutes every 2 hours, a sum total of 3 hours a day.  People emulate it all the time and there's a wealth of blogs of people who try.  Theres a few people who know how my little experiment turned out... let's just say I always keep a full bottle of Maalox in the house now.
Anyways, the past few days, without any of my own effort, I've been performing the same f'ed up feat and doing it well.  My body just does not want to go to bed anymore.  I'm hovering around 3 and a half hours a day for the past 4 days: 2 1/2 hours at night and an hour nap during the day.  Needless to say, I'm finding all sorts of ways to occupy my time.  I've reaaly been surging ahead in my advanced photoshop training; I've reorganized my mp3 library to absolute perfection; and I've been making great strides in memorizing all these drink recipes.
And so I've realized....

sleeping sucks.

I'm adding, like, 4 or 5 hours to my day, 30 odd hours to my week!  That's like adding another Sunday to my week!  Like, Sunday 2 or something.  I mean, I know this thing is far from revolutionary, but why are standing(?) around sleeping?!  Yeah, yeah, the research shows that before another week is up I'll be wimpering in a corner... but! after that its smooth sailing... Plus, I figure if I'm doing fine without even the encouragment of a term paper being due the next day, I'm golden.

I saw this young lady waiting for a taxi at Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, WI.  I said, "I like that symmetry" and snapped one.

I'm due for a nap soon.

soon the water will be lost in the well
traffic in the sky, jack johnson

what's goin on?

so this addiction of mine.  i don't know why i keep doing it.  maybe its cause i know i'm better than this.  its unbelievable how i keep going back, time after time.  maybe its a sign, i dont know.  i've never had faltering willpower like this before.  this isnt me. this isnt who i am.  and i'm afraid to know what it will take to get me out of this whole.

i like aquariams.  they're like ocean without the wet.  that's what i need.  a field trip to an aquariam.

what's goin on?

i am back! ta-da!  how have y'all been since i been gone?  tell me you missed me... say it... say it...

my break from xanga was pretty good.  cleared my head, pursued other interests, but i realized that, in the end, xanga wasn't distracting me... it was me distracting me (?) ... wow, one hell of a come-back post.
nevertheless, i'm back with a vengeance - i got stories to tell, pictures to post, and some bona fide venting headin your way.  save that confederate money, folks, FOR THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN!

boy, its good to be back... though, i don't remember leaving my site in shambles like this.  gonna need some color, no?  mmm, some purple would just be divine!

now leave me some love so i have something to come back to next time i get desperately bored.
