| Proverbs 24:16For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity. | | |
| i don't really know why i've decided to write an entry. i have nothing in particular to write.. i guess i'm kinda bored, probably because i'm running subjects. man, i hate running subjects. every year new freshmen come in, and they constantly remind me of how old i am. and how little i've accomplished during my college career. damn freshmen subjects. what are you good for?? absolutely nothing. anyway, so for those of you who don't know, i've decided to go pre-med two quarters ago, all thanks to God. the past two quarters have been.. very interesting.... definitely taking steps of faith that i didn't know i was capable of.. ok i'm done. i dont' wanna write anymore. | | |
| Be still, and know that I'm your God... I must decrease while You increase. I must not forget why I'm going through this. I'm doing this for You. For Your kingdom, and not mine. Praise the LORD, in all that I do.. Amen.. | | |
| the God the world won't find (part II)The Pacifist
I believe in a God who is just desperate for love. He desires me so much and all he wants is for me to accept him, so he can come into my warm heart. My Jesus, when the rich young ruler turns away from him, would start chasing after him to say, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you away by telling you to sell all that you have and come follow me. There is an easier way. In a few more years I will be crucified to take away all your sins, and then all you have to do is say that you accept me, then I will prepare a place for you next to me in heaven and will be waiting there eagerly until the day you arrive." My God loves me and I love him. I'll open my heart to him so he can come in and not have to just wait outside in the cold, knocking on the my door and waiting for me to answer, because I love my God.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
When did being a Christian become so passive? Jesus' call had never been to receive him, it was a simple "follow me." Then fishermen left their nets, tax collectors left their wealth, his disciples left everything, to follow him. God is a sovereign king, not a desperate lover. He desires true worshippers and perfect sacrifices, and is not deceived by half-hearted followers. John wrote in his letter, "This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did." In a typical church today, how many "Christians" are actually "in Christ"? God loves His children, but He is also a just king, and friendship with the world is enmity towards God. The cost of following Jesus, is everything. But it is only in and through Jesus, that all sins are forgiven. And only then, can the righteous approach God, to worship Him, because He is a Holy God, set apart, and sin cannot come near Him. He is not looking for people who will say they love Him, He is looking for a very specific type of follower, those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. To believe in God's love, but then disregard His justice, His holines, and His sovereignty, is to believe in a God who does not exist. Jesus' call is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. "Follow me." | | |
| | the God the world won't find (part I)The Scientist I believe a God that I can study and predict. The scientific method. I need formulas and equations. Gather 100 Christians and make them fast and pray for seven days for different events to occur, take those results, compare them to the natural probability of those events happening, perform a test for significance, if there is over 80% significance, let's perform similiar tests with Hindus and Buddhists, if the Christian test group yields significantly higher success rate, let's repeat the experiment to make sure we can reproduce the same results. For the prayers that are not answered, I want to know why, was it because the person praying hasn't been Christian long enough? Were they praying wrong? If they believe God chose not to answer, I want to know why God made that choice. Was it His will? What is His will? This is the God I believe in. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- God formed the earth, the stars, and the galaxies. He created the law of gravity and the law of thermodynamics. The same laws that scientists take so much pride in discovering, coming up with equations to predict these laws, to give them control. He is a living King, and He is not under any law, and will choose to answer whichever prayers He wants to answer, and deny whichever ones He doesn't want to answer. He will choose them according to His plan. His plan to prosper those who love Him, to glorify His name, and to bring His kingdom on earth. The plan which He reveals to sons and daughters who seek to carry out His plan with Him. He owes no one an explaination, and may not care enough to go out of His way to cooperate with the experiment. He will do what He wills, and if anyone wants to study Him, they may attempt what they will, but only God can see the whole picture. |
