  • Our Zeke Visitor

Andy and Kelly went to Pennsylvania for a few days, so we took care of little Zeke while they were gone.  He is so sweet, having him with us made me want a dog!  But alas, maybe one day, but not now.

We had a lot of fun.  He came with me all over--we went to the laundromat, locked our keys in the car, walked to the library (which was closed ) and went shopping.  Then Andrew saved us and unlocked the car.  The next day we took him to the church to run around on the soccer field, which he loved, and watch Andrew play frisbee.  He liked meeting new friends when we took him to our friends, the Gray's house.  All in all, we had a great time!

For those of you not "on Facebook," here is a public link to see the album I made of when Zeke came to visit.

  • April's wedding

Over the Christmas holidays, my dear friend April got hitched.  She was beautiful, and it was a great time--even more so because my family came!  It went so fast, but many meaningful words were said, most of the meaningful things that you're supposed to do at weddings were done, and the time was well spent, even though we didn't have much of it.  I really enjoyed meeting Jared's family and hanging out with his sisters.  Spending time with Becca and Hudson was a blast!  And, of course, I loved being a part of their wedding, being the "honor attendant to the bride" and witnessing their sacred vows (they had a beautiful ceremony!).  What an honor, and what a joy.

Here are some pictures so that you can see how much fun we had.  :)

    the beautiful bride

"Alli, stop poking me in the head!"

You can tell they're in love by the way that they dance...

    There's a nice looking couple

Their picture together was way better than ours, haha

    so silly!

    what a nice family

Ok, so that might have been a lot, but I had fun.  What can I say, I got carried away.  Oh well!

  • Welcome to the Real World

When I was in college, or even high school for that matter, a teacher returned a paper I'd written and I hoped they'd written on it.  Especially if they gave me less than a 100%, I wanted to know what they thought, which would help me improve for the future.  If they gave me a low grade and didn't write anything, I would be slightly upset.  But, on the other hand, if they wrote all over the paper, I would be upset as well.  I would think, "It wasn't that bad!  How dare they write all over it!"  I felt pretty good about my writing back then, even though I knew it could probably be better.  I expressed myself, and that was that.  It was good.

Well, now I work for a magazine.  Writing is not just to express your thoughts here... it's for general consumption.  Last week I "turned in" an article that's going in the Feb/Mar issue of one of our magazines.  I'd say the editor did a little more than write a few comments:

Welcome to the real world, Alli...

  • O Christmas Tree

I love Christmas trees!  On the day after Thanksgiving we got our first tree... yay!  It's a real tree, and I've never had a real tree of my very own before.  We didn't have many ornaments, so we bought a few and I made a bunch.  Here it is, and here we are.  :)

Looks a lot shorter when he's next to it!

It looks pretty bare, but we like it.

This is one of the guys I made!
