Well I am in Israel! I have decided for now at least to post blogs and pictures on xanga when I get a chance too because this allows people who do not have facebook to see pictures as well.  I will try to post often, but posts might not be very often because the schedule is very rigorous here. I am only taking four classes which doesnt seem much. But just one class period each day is 2 hours long. Today I have three classes: Land and Bible, Life of Christ, and Biblical Hebrew. Tomorrow I will only have one class: Hebrew.  The schedule is almost different every day because accomodations have to be made for field trips and things. I already highlighted all my classes on the schedule, and even though the classes move, I still will have an 8:00am class every day!!
I dont have much time right now. I am waiting to go to lunch in 10 minutes, but I just wanted everyone to know that I am alive.  Even though it is just Wednesday right now it feels like we have been here a while. On Monday we got a tour of the Moshav, IBEX orientation, a water fight to keep us awake, and a group picture. Yesterday we spent the whole day touring the Old City of Jerusalem. Some of the places we visited were the Jaffa Gate, the Citadel (where we got a good view of the old city), the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Shaban's (to change our money to shekels), the Damascus Gate (we walked through the Arab quarter), we walked along the western wall of the Temple Mount (through the Arab cemetary), we visited the pools of Bethesda (in the Arab quarter), and then a part of the Jewish Qarter where we could see the wailing wall from a distance. It was a long, hot, sweaty, tiring day, but very fun to see all of these places. I think my favorite part actually was just walking through the shops especially in the Arab quarter and just seeing the daily lives of the people. Also, it was interesting to see the distinct difference between the Arab and Jewish quarters.
Well I am running out of time right now, so I will post some picture when I have more time. Thank you for your prayers! I will try to keep everyone updated. I am sorry this post was kindof all over the place, I will try to be more structured in the next ones.
