I could hardly believe my eyes

when I stepped into the local Capital One Bank today to make a deposit for work. They were giving away Contemporary Christian CD's as part of their customer appreciation day. I picked up Fee, Skillet, Connersvine and Michael W. Smith. I don't have a clue what they sound like yet. And even though this is a bank in the buckle of the Bible Belt, it means a lot when a big corporation does things like this to help out the gospel artists as well as present the God's message in song to those who might not know Him. Hat's off to Capital One!

Uncle Jimmy where's the bathroom

That's what Caleb asked just before he said, "I have to go poop." Sam's at the dental office today and he brought Caleb with him.

Locked out today

The gutter people were at my house to install gutters. Well, they tripped the circuit breaker for the garage door opener and we could not open our garage door. The front door and the patio door have additional locks on them in case someone gets past the deadbolt. I found out how to break them...I won't share that here though. Needless to say, I need to find another way to secure the house. The hassles of getting work done to your house. It seems that there is always something that goes wrong.

garage time = fun time along with other ramblings

Well, I had one of those pesky "service engine soon" lights come on my dash. After hooking up the code reader, it said P1397 - misfire. Well, I don't know the state of the spark plugs, and since I was going to pull them, better to replace them. After changing the spark plugs the code still showed up, even though my butt dyno felt a little performance boost with the new plugs. So I go out the BMW forums and look up the code -- points to camshaft position sensor, exhaust side. So I picked one up from the BMW house. Funny thing, the light turned itself off after I got the part. Perhaps the mere presence of a new sensor fixed it. Nevertheless, since I had the time today, it was changed in about 30 minutes.

The fence is finally done, and my bank account is thousands lighter.

Car wash for Ukraine is coming up this Saturday at church. If you are nearby, bring your car to wash.

The start of the weekend

We had Friday off from work, since I made a mistake booking our flights to SFO. We were planning to leave 5/22 but left 5/23 at night. I took the opportunity to go bike riding. I rode for twenty miles which took most of the morning.

I found that we have a cardinal family in our backyard. They have a nest in one of our bushes. I was able to photograph the mother cardinal. The male cardinal keeps on running away when I go outside.

The air travel was pretty uneventful. However, when I was getting food at McDonalds at DFW, the girl asked me if I worked there....was it due to a)the mechanics shirt I was wearing, b)the chance that I look hispanic at times, c)the fact that a Korean cleaning company cleans the terminal or d)was she just hitting on me...I'm guessing it was "a" and/or "c", "b" has happened to me on numerous occasions at Home Depot, "d" hardly ever happens to me.
