| Rest ©Micah RSV June 19, 2008
A day that greets you--
Good and bright,
With still consuming
sleep of night.
And skies implore the eyes of rest-- A man asleep upon her chest.
With heaven-born, this gentle smile, And painted 'pon her clement eyes-- A care for man that moves about To and fro her, but without.
Thus night now greets her-- Cold and dim, With still consuming fancied whim.
And skies implore the eyes of rest-- A man still sleeps upon her chest.

| TensionShe sat still and stared at the cruel trick fate played upon her again, blocking out tears, fighting back the emotions that threatened the future of her baby.
The mere thought of her causes her heart to skip a beat, and her eyes to close--
and count to ten...
and breathe...
breathe in...
breathe in slowly...
slowly...
slowly......
A cruel trick, a bitter laugh... It's just another day. © Micah RSV 021308

I wake from slumber.
My dreams
--they've gone.
Oblivion reaps it's harvest. | | |
| FOR MY GRANDMOTHER © Micah RSV
My sweet memory As tangible as fruit
Honest as you spoke In the twilight of day That you would not pave A single way again
For love has died in gain And you fulfilled by then, So tell us all you wish not leave
Gladly, take wing instead
Heaven waits for you, unchanged For you—so sweet yet deeply shamed But by grace you hold steadfast To love Not so as tangible as fruit…
Lacked of you, I long for presence Yet set forth still in love
Success, success It rings like a chime.
In my sweetest memory
My grand
grandmother My grand, grand reverie.
