Jessica and Brett Wedding Review in Elberta, Michigan
Lake Michigan Beach Weddings, Beach Wedding Locations, Michigan Photographer
Last weekend took me to the shores of Lake Michigan along Sleeping Bear Dunes near Frankfurt, but across the river to Elberta, Michigan. There really is such a place.
The marriage of Jessica and Brett took place at 5:30 pm with a smaller ceremony, around 50 people at the Elberta Life Station at Elberta Waterfront Park. What a fantastic location! I would recommend this location to anyone who has a smaller venue and really wants fantastic views and the opportunity to capture sunset images over Lake Michigan and the Frankfurt lighthouses. The sleeping bear dunes are a short trip and the beaches are awesome!
We had wonderful weather with a mix of clouds, fog, and sun. The day turned out to be beautiful in more ways than one. The weather cooperated and the wedding party was really a blast.
The couple stayed at the Harbor Lights Resort in Frankfurt, Michigan. Really nice spot within seconds of the water, walking distance. This is where the hanging dress images were made. The room had a lot of light and was a fantastic place for the bride to prepare!
Some of the images were captured at the Point Betsie Lighthouse. That was a cool spot with plenty of room to get clear of other parties and make some incredible shots. We even had a Coast Guard helicopter buzz us during the shoot. That was a first for me.
Back to the Elberta Lifesaving Station, it has beautiful wood floors, large barn doors to the deck where they were married, nice large barn lights over the entries, a ramp and a sprawling deck. Jessica and Brett used all of the area with cocktail hour, lounging area, opening the dance floor to the deck, and more.
The DJ was Dynamic James with Jim Brown. He is a great guy and I would highly recommend him for your wedding day. Very professional and I enjoyed working with him!
I am going to leave you with a cool slideshow from their wedding... Be sure to check out my website at www.PaulShotMyWedding.com
This album is the Traditional Album design as opposed to the flush mount album design. If you do not know the difference between a traditional album and a flush mount here are two examples.
The flush mount is where the entire page is the print and there is a lacquer coating over the page. This album is really hot right now. I would say that it is cool because of the design factor but it is more of a pain if you ever want to change anything in the album. You can change the flush mount albums but it is expensive and time consuming. It has to be sent back to the original company and they remove the print with a hot press. Traditional albums, on the other hand, typically have slide in pages or pages that are more easily accessible regarding changing of prints, but this is not always the case, depending on the album company. Traditional, a lot of times, adds a bit more emphasis to the prints since, typically, there is more "dead space," or areas without images or text.
Both are great albums but you just need to decide which is best for you!
Back to putting together a flush mount album with cool metallic pages!
You can also see a cool wedding image slideshow that I did for them at the site too. I will be posting their wedding album online soon at the same site. Check back for the album and their edits to the album.
