| 1st Dr.'s Appt.So I had my very first Dr.'s appointment this morning. It worked out well cause I had to be there at 9:15, which doesn't leave much time for running the kids to a babysitter....thankfully my mom is on vacation this week and offered to let Livy and Corbin spend the night so I only had Sophia to deal with. So basically today was just paperwork/pee testing/getting vitamins/etc. The confirmed that I am, in deed, pregnant (woohoo). She tried to calculate how far along I am but due to my...ummm...lack of regular monthly visits :) it's kinda hard to even say. So my Dr. was in surgery this morning so the receptionist said she'd run my situation by the Dr. and give me a call later today. They'll probably jut have me go for an ultrasound to figure out a due date and all that. That's kinda exciting. I always welcome an extra ultrasound :). So that's basically it for now. As soon as I know how far and all that, I'll fill you in :) | | |
| Time with the boy. So my mom is on vacation from work this week and since she only lives 1 town away and isn't going anywhere during her time off, she offered to let the kids each have a night over her house.....separately. Well, Olivia and Corbin anyways. Sophia's still a little young for sleeping over. She ends up being more work than fun cause she just doesn't sleep well outside of her own crib. Even here at home we've tried to have movie nights in mommy and daddy's bed and she just won't quit until she's in her crib. Soooo for now it's the bigger kids. Yesterday I dropped Olivia off for her girls night out w/ her Nana. They went swimming and had dinner. Olivia packed every Barbie/princess/fairy tale movie she could find....ya know, all the ones her brother never wants to watch w/ her :). And today I think they were going to go do a little back-to-school shopping. Corbin, Sophia and I had a pretty quiet day yesterday. I was soo sick feeling so I didn't do a whole lot and didn't feel much like cooking. I ordered pizza, which Corbin was ecstatic over (pizza is his favorite as of right now). Then we got out some of my art supplies which is a treat cause I usually keep my stuff separate from the kids because a) it's more expensive than construction paper and crayons and b) makes a waay bigger mess :). But they had fun using pastels on the "special paper" (as corbin calls it). Good times. After Sophia went to bed, Corbin and I got our blankets and curled up on the couch....of course there was NOTHING on the t.v. Well Titanic was on so Corbin watched the beginning part where you get to see the whole ship and see the "lower class" people dancing below the deck. He liked all that. Besides it was very much edited for television and he was asleep before anything too intense happened. So I carried him to bed in our room. He spent the night on our chase in our room. We woke up this morning, made pancakes and had some play time. Now he's eating a brownie and watching "Batteries Not Included" :). My boy. Anyways, I'm just rambling, I know but w/e...I felt like typing and we had a good night...figured I'd share :). Tonight is Corbin's night w/ his Nana sooo I'll have some time w/ Olivia.
Ooooo, I also got my new insurance card in the mail (FINALLY!!!) So I made my Dr.'s appt (finally :) I'll keep you updated on all that...I go Thursday morning to confirm the pregnancy, get vitamins, etc. And sooo it begins.... :) | | |
| So we finally made it to the beach this year and ya know what?? I didn't even bring my camera. Horrible, I know. I surprised I packed everything else we needed. It really is unfortunate, we only live about 45-50 min away from the ocean yet it's been forever since we've gone to the beach. Sophia had never even seen the ocean. Well, I'm glad we made it anyways. Olivia loves it. She walks right out into the water, no fear, as far as she possibly can (which was pretty far cause it was low tide when we got there). There was even quite a few jellyfish but she didn't care, just walked around them. Then she gets out of the water and lays herself directly on the sand, no towel. She makes me happy :). Corbin took some getting used to. He wasn't sure about the water but when I showed him you could jump over the waves and they'd kinda carry you he started laughing and playing. It was a good day. The weather was perfect....can't wait to get back there. | | |
| Non-pregnancy related post :)Sooo here's my story. I had to pick up a bassinet from my mom's house so friends of ours could pick it up over here today. So I left the kids home w/ Jon and went for a nice loong drive all by myself. It was hot out...a little muggy...perfect for windows down, ya know? Oh, and I took all the back roads. Welp, I'm driving home, at night, windows down and all of sudden I here this huge buzzing and something stuck itself to my arm. It was STINKIN' JUNE BUG!!! Now, I dunno if everyone knows what a june bug is but let me tell ya, they are huge, gigantic beetles...like the length of my pinkie finger and the have these huge pinchers (like so big that they can't pinch you hard but it's still pretty gross) So it latched onto my arm and then flew to the passengers side and started flying into the door/window/whatever. I obviously swerved like a mad woman...right past a cop :] Thankfully he didn't follow me. And as I'm shaking from the attack, lol, a stupid japanese beetle flies in my other window right into the side of my head....I felt like I was driving through a plague. Needless to say, my windows went up after that....
and that's my story :]
