  • Cathy + Jeff
    wedding - part 1

I haven't even gone through half of the images from Cathy and Jeff's wedding, but there are already so many I love that I just couldn't wait to share them with you!  Cathy & Jeff had a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Pasadena Museum of California Art.  They were very thoughtful about incorporating details that were unique and personal to them - from the location, to the favors, to the music and scripture choices, to the Russian-style buffet.  And I must say that I am completely blown away by Cathy's talent, creativity, and amazing ability to multi-task!  I remember she emailed me a while back and told me she had just finished up 16 FINALS!!  Planning a wedding is hard enough without having to study and worry about 16 finals.

And on top of that, Cathy designed and made all the floral arrangements herself!  I was going to ask who her florist was...and then I found out she was!  I am so impressed!!
    Check out her beautiful bouquet.

    More fabulous details

    Stay tuned for more!

  • Hannah + Ben
    engagement

I shot this session with Hannah & Ben right before our wedding, and with all the last minute details of the wedding to finish up along with being away for 2 wks, I didn't have a chance to work on or post these till now.  Thank you two for being so patient.....you guys are awesome!!  I was really excited that they picked Balboa Beach for their session because I've been wanting to shoot there.  We had so much fun together that I almost forgot that I was working.  And although it was a bit cold that day, I love that they were totally willing to jump in the water for some shots.

    Just Married!

Since we got back from our honeymoon, I've shot 2 weddings and attended a third as a guest.....and it's only been a week and a half!  So I've got plenty to blog in the next few days/weeks.  I'm going to blog a little out of order b/c I just couldn't wait to share some of the awesomeness and hilarity from Wendy & Johann's wedding yesterday.  They had a beautiful ceremony at Pasadena City Hall, followed by a fun and wild reception at Twin Palms.  It was my first time being a guest at a wedding in a long while, and it was nice to not have any responsibility although I couldn't help picking up my camera for a few shots.

  • We're Back!

Jeremy and I are back and settling into married life.  We had a wonderful time in the Cook Islands and I'll have plenty of pics from our honeymoon to share with you in a future blog post.  For now, I wanted to post a few pictures from our wedding taken by our fabulous photographer Jessica Claire!  Some of you may have already seen these on her blog, but for those of you who haven't, I wanted to post a few of my favs here.  Be sure to check out Jessica's blog for the rest.  Also, the super cute duo Mark & Candice Brooke came along with Jessica to second shoot, and they have some fantastic images on their blog as well!

I have to share a little back story about how I found my shoes.  I actually have a few photo buddies to thank. =)  It all started with a blog post by Sarah Chen about some fabulous shoes by Luichiny.  I immediately ordered a cream-colored pair from Zappos and loved them.  But then, while in Las Vegas for WPPI, a few of us "Blueberries" were out shopping for some shoes for a buodoir session, when Crissy Farrah came across the same Luichiny shoes....but in RED....and on SALE!!  It doesn't really get much better than that. =D

And I love that there are hearts on the bottom of the shoes.  If anyone wants a pair, you can find these shoes on Endless.

  • Jennifer + Eric
    SF engagement session

Ok, while I'm at it, I thought I'd blog Jennifer & Eric's engagement session that I shot a few weeks back.  I finished some previews for them but haven't had a chance to blog them, so since I've got an internet connection right now and we're sitting here still waiting to board our flight, I thought I'd blog their session since they have been so patiently waiting to see them.

We started off at the Japanese Tea Gardens.  Love the cherry blossoms!

    Then walked around the city.

Love this next series of pictures

Jennifer & Eric showed off some of their dance skills...

...then had a little dance-off to see who could do the robot better!

    They are so fun!

You two were so great to work with!  Can't wait till your wedding!

  • The Adventures of Jer & Ser

Jeremy and I are sitting in the airport terminal right now, waiting for our flight to Rarotonga to board.  We happened to find a wi-fi connection so we hopped online and found these hilarious pictures on Jon's facebook!  Oh my goodness....we are laughing so hard right now!!

During dinner, Jeremy's uncles John and Luke apparently took our cardboard cut-out on a little adventure around LA.  So funny! =D

Jeremy and I seriously laughed so hard at this one.....everyone around us at the airport right now must think we're crazy!

  • Wendy + Johann
    engagement session

After chowing down on some yummy cow at Stacey's wedding, Jeremy & I headed out to downtown LA to shoot an engagement session for my friends Wendy & Johann.  They are getting married in a month and I am so excited for them!  If you've been following my blog for a while, then you may recognize Johann because, along with being an amazing graphic designer, he's also an awesome photographer and we've shot a few weddings together.

Just as we met up to start shooting, it started drizzling and the winds picked up.  I wasn't sure if the weather would hold up but we decided to go for it.  Still decked out in my bridesmaid dress, I threw on some pants and a jacket (man, I must've looked ridiculous!), and we drove toward the little patch of open sky in the distance.  Thankfully, it didn't rain and the clouds provided some nice, diffuse lighting.  Here are a few pictures from the shoot!

After shooting this shot, we got stopped by security.  At least I already got the shots I wanted.

Alright, back to wedding planning.  How many more days left?  Eeek!

  • Today....

...Jeremy and I headed down to Balboa Beach to shoot an engagement session with Ben and Hannah.  It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to share with you their images!  Actually, I have three fab engagement sessions to share with you all.....but it will take me a little while to get to them all since I'm a little preoccupied with wedding stuff at the moment.  Thanks for your patience!  I really want to take a break from wedding preps to just edit photos....I love editing!  The last 2 days have literally been a shopping marathon (7 hrs at the Santa Anita mall, 6 hrs in the flower/fashion district) and I miss Lightroom. =(  Goodness, do I sound like a geek or what?

Anyhow, here's one shot from today that I just had to share.  After hopping on the ferris wheel and shooting a bunch of pictures of Hannah and Ben, Hannah was so sweet and said that Jeremy and I should get a shot together.  So I whipped out my wide and took a few shots, and later, as I was going through the pictures on my camera, I noticed this shot that just made me crack up!  Look at those two goofing off in the back!  Too funny!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

  • Stacey + Daniel
    wedding

This past week has been a crazy whirlwind!!  I can't believe it has only been a week since Stacey and Daniel got married....it feels like it's been so much longer!  Friday morning was Stacey and Daniel's rehearsal, and then all the bridesmaids spent the day hanging out before heading to bed early.  Saturday morning was the big day, followed by a yummy lunch reception at Lawry's, and then an engagement session with my friends Johann & Wendy (stay tuned for a post on that).  Then Sunday I threw everything in my car and headed out to Vegas with some friends for a week of awesome at WPPI.  Made it home Thursday night, spent Friday recuperating, caught up on some work on Saturday....and then this morning I flew to SF and back for an engagement session.  Crazy!

And in the midst of that all, I somehow managed to find time to edit a few photos I took at Stacey's wedding.  I mostly have tons of pictures of us getting ready in the morning, but I did manage to capture a few other cool shots while fulfilling my bridesmaid duties (which mainly consisted of standing there and looking pretty....and I guess maneuvering down the incredibly looonnnggg aisle without tripping).  I was really hoping my bouquet would be big enough for me to hide my camera in since I had such a great view of all the action on stage, but I'm betting Nate & Jaclyn got some pretty awesometastic stuff. ;)

I'm kind of obsessed with Stacey's shoes

While Stacey and Daniel were having tons of photos taken of them, I decided us bridesmaids should not be left out!

My pink toes!  I was amazed my pedi still looked sooo good even after a month, and I couldn't bare to change them even though I thought they looked a little odd with my bridesmaid outfit.  Thankfully, Stacey isn't a bridezilla and she didn't mind that I had pink toes for her wedding.

Stacey and Daniel had a yummy, yummy reception at Lawry's!

Our dresses were made by Theresa, and Stacey's gown was made by Fionna.

Love love love their cake from Porto's!
