I am keeping my fingers crossed and my budget tight in hopes that I can move out next summertime.
Mike and I went to look at places on Saturday and ruled out the Emerson Lofts in Woodstock because we wouldn't be getting tons of square footage for the money they want us to spend. We looked at KB Homes in Crystal Lake and decided that those are the ones we would prefer better (I am hoping that we continue to look at other options in the area because we might like a different layout better). That and we've also hit a bit of a snag when it comes to if we want a basement or not. I think I'd prefer one more for the resale value of the home (especially if we are getting it built) whereas he doesn't think it would be worth the extra money upfront because we wouldn't be utilizing it. I can go either way I just don't want to run into the issue of the stuff that we don't want to use all year gets in our way because we have nowhere to put it in the off season. For example, Christmas Decorations.
I wonder if and when (and how) we should go about getting pre-approved for a loan...
