Who the fuck am I fooling?

I can't pass a math/sci/eng class here. Mainly because I'm too much of a fuck up, and going from a fuck up to not a fuck up is easier said than done. I'm not cut out for all this high academia.

At the end of this term, the only class I'm gonna pass is history, and I'm gonna get kicked out.

This year has just been one colossal failure. One fuck up right after the other.

Yeah, hope?

All of Bruce Lee's movies: The Big Boss, First of Fury, Way of the Dragon, Game of Death, Game of Death II, and Enter the Dragon.

Fist of Fury is my favorite, followed by Way of the Dragon, and then Enter the Dragon. I wasn't really impressed with The Big Boss.
Game of Death was so terrible, I literally wanted to kill myself, and that was with me skipping the faux Lee parts. I'm scared to pop in Game of Death II. I don't know what I'l do to myself.

My thoughts: "I can jump off the roof and end this now.....or I can hit the eject button and pop out the DVD? wtf"

Late Night Musings

Everytime I stay up late thinking about a problem (like tonight) I think of a simple, straight-forward solution. Then I plan to carry out said solution at the next available moment.

When I wake up in the morning, I always talk myself down from it.

In the past, I've chalked it up to either one or two reasons:

A) I'm more sane in the daylight hours.
B) I'm just a bitch in the daylight hours.

I stayed on campus for Spring Break, and I primarily spent my time reading various historical and philosophical works. I've realized various things about the world and myself, only one of which is relevant to this post.

The things that I think of doing at night; these are the actions that the man I want to be would take.
In the morning; these are the actions of the man I am.

There is a huge gap between the thoughts and actions of these two men.

Maybe it's time to bridge that gap.

So instead I read comic books and look up citizenship law.

So McCain was born on the US Military Base Coco Solo in the Panama Canal Zone.

According to the State Department, "Despite widespread popular belief, U.S. military installations abroad and U.S. diplomatic or consular facilities are not part of the United States within the meaning of the 14th Amendment. A child born on the premises of such a facility is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and does not acquire U.S. citizenship by reason of birth."

There are three latin terms about citizenship. Jus soli, jus sanguinis, and lex soli. Right of the soil, right of the blood, and law of the soil respectively. Jus soli means you were born on US soil, jus sanguinis means you were born to two US citizens, and lex soli means you were naturalized. You have to be a citizen by jus soli to hold the office of president.

Jus sanguinis applies to McCain, and isn't in debate. Problem is, jus sanguinis has no basis in US law, except through laws like the Immigration and Naturalization Act of '52.

The INA of '52 has this clause about people born in the Canal Zone: "Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States."

This was passed when McCain was 16, and according to the US Code, to be naturalized means, "the conferring of nationality of a state upon a person after birth, by any means whatsoever."

So McCain is naturalized and therefore uneligible to hold the office of President and therefore the Repubs re wasting their time, right?

Maybe not.

Back to the State Department, "Prior to January 13, 1941, there was no statutory definition of “the United States” for citizenship purposes. Thus there were varying interpretations. Guidance should be sought from the Department (CA/OCS) when such issues arise."

As McCain was born in '36 (old as fuck) he falls under this clause.

Actually, on further thought, this won't be that interesting. The Supreme Court is full of Republican nominees, they'll just make it so he's defined as natural-born.

This is obviously a Republican plot to slowly change the requirements for President so that they can get Arnold in.

In other, possibly more important news, Del tha Funkee Homosapien is releasing his new album today called 11th Hour. His first new album in 8 (!) years.

Also, Deltron Event II, the second Deltron 3030 album, might come out this year, but it's been delayed before, so who knows?

Anyway, I'm not voting for Obama. I don't really like him. He is the softer boot up the ass than Hilary, but he's a boot up the ass nonetheless.

It'd be very interesting to see what would happen if McCain was. Just from a legal standpoint. The Supreme Court would finally have to decide on the specifics of what a natural born citizen is, because McCain wasn't born on US soil.

Also, what would happen if they ruled that he in fact, couldn't be President because he wasn't a natural born citizen?

Shit is crazy.

Dropped that shit like it was hot.

I haven't learned anything in the class, and there's a test on Thursday, and it's just not gonna happen.

Also, I realized something. For whatever reason, I can only handle two non-humanities classes per term here. Anything beyond that and one gets left behind, and then I try to catch up in that, and then I end up failing them all. (See Fall '07).

I wish I would've realized this when I registered for this term. Oh well.

This post was going to be much longer, but I'm tiring out and I'm a good 20 minutes late for bed.

Also, I feel particularly emo tonight.

Maybe I should start an anonymous blog where I can unleash my full amount of whining on it.

Because you know, I have a reputation to uphold and all that, as to why I can't do it here.

I can't believe I typed the above bullshit with a straight face.
