| Well hurray for coming home! I catch my ride to the airport around 7am tomorrow morning and will actually touch down at DIA around 1:40pm. 2 weeks of relaxing will feel so nice. So if you want to do something go ahead and start calling me as soon as you read this. Of course I put off packing and cleaning up my room till the very last minute but oh well. | | |
| Well, I waited till the last minute to pack my bags for the field. I leave tomorrow morning and get back on thursday afternoon/evening. We are actually staying in building this week so it shouldn't be so bad especially since I have my ipod loaded up and ready. I got this awesome new album called "The Mouse and the Mask" by DangerDoom. DJ Dangermouse who become big by remixing the lyrics to Jay-Z's Black Album over the Beatles and then went on to work with the Gorillaz on Demon Days works with Victor Vaughn who is a hip hop artist similar to Del the Funky Homosapien who goes as the artist MF DOOM and has down such albums as Villianous Villainy and Doomsday Operation. Not only are those two together incredible but the entire is an entire ode to Adult Swim. They actually got the voices of Adult Swim to do some skits and quotes from the shows but also it is hilarious to hear Master Shake begging to "do some rhymes" for the album and Meatwad does some of his gangsta rapping. Many other Adult Swim shows like Sealab 2021, Futurama, Brak Show, and others bust out on this album. Well once we roll back from the field I will get some chill time since next weekend we get Friday and Monday off for Colombus day. Have a good week everyone. | | |
| Well getting readey to finally get to bed at 9pm so that I can get up and be to work and 2am so we can drive our 26ton vehicle out to the field. We got our vehicle fixed so as the Gunner now I only have to verify the computer's trajectory instead of being directly responsible for the trajectory of 96lbs of Composition B (a nice explosive compound.) This eases my nerves a bit so I should enjoy making things go boom since it is no longer my job to manually make sure the trajectory is good. This is probably a lot safer for all the people that won't get blown up by a mistake of mine. Well it should be long and filled with tons of non-sleeping fun for all and I should be back in a few days. While I am gone check out these videogame playing geeky computer nerd rappers....Well I was going to put them as my Currently Listening but Amazon doesn't stock Optimus Rhyme (Take that Transformers!) | Tonight was pretty cool, felt like I was almost back home. Went to Old Chicago got some Italian Nachos and played some trivia. Work is dragging on a bit but making me a bit nervous because while my Sergeant is going to NBC school I am filling in as gunner for the howitzer and next week we are live-firing. Normally the gunner just verifies everything the Chief does on the computer to fire but our computer is currently messed up so I will have to manually fire the rounds off of the old-fashioned sight. Which is not only tough but I am slightly undertrained and it is a big responsibility. Luckily, this will get me some good recognition and some good experience. | | |
