A brand new, very pretty, non-techno song.

This completely surprised me out of the blue today. I didn't sit down at the computer expecting a song to come out, much less something completely different from anything I've done before. I'm not even talking about the difference between anything on Synaptic and the things I made in Reason (Angels, Dirty Drums, Sampler Platter).
What I ended up making was a simple, beautiful piano-oriented song. It adds textures and layers as it goes, but the track was created at 85 BPM and remains soothing. I'm calling it "Serenity" for now, but I'm pondering changing the name to "Adrift" to match the feeling it gives me when I listen to it.

Please let me know what you think. I recommend putting aside a little time to just close your eyes and drift away with a good pair of headphones.

I actually really really enjoyed that. If you put out a whole album of stuff like that, i'd really really like it. Very Brian Eno.

just a thought - when you start adding in the various layers, the original melody needs to fade into the background sooner. I feel like that's the part I should be noticing once in a while once something else appears, like you sort of do at around 4 min, instead of having to fight to listen to the newer parts in the beginning.... sorry. it is really pretty though

Pretty, but I agree with above- I got bored with the original melody after a minute and a half. But I'm grumpy today, so maybe that's it.

I dont know the next time you're free, but if you could come over and help me out with some of my computer problems i'd appreciate it. I've got a doozy of a fucking thing with my router and my computer not streaming my shit to my ps3 properly whilst letting azureus run at the same time and its fucking irritating because everything i've thrown at it, along with the tech support guy from medialink has done jack shit.

This is a song that has potential, but could use expansion. It sounds like you had one idea and repeated the idea over and over again, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in music (hence the huge popularity of hip hop). For some reason, it reminds me of the Miis in Wii. Anyway, I didn't enjoy the dissonance in the 4th minute and the rest of the song; however I liked the 3rd minute rendition. The song overall, sounds like someone having a trip on something or traveling somewhere. There was never a climax to the song, most of it homogeneous; was that what you were going for? I suggest there be cuts, a climax, and more detail with a counter melody on top. I like that your music is evolving. Keep it up =)
