Dang! That was one fast 365 days!

TrainingCenterSo, it's absolutely astonishing how fast 365 days can jet past. Exactly one year ago I was spending time relaxing after my first full day in Eleuthera on the missions trip. Probably right about now I would have been listening to devotions (I think Joe did them that night). I'm seriously missing that missions trip. I wish more people would have shown some more interest in the trip so we actually would have had a team to go on the trip this year... If Josh reads this, thanks for making that dvd, 'cause I never want to forget that trip... Going back to Eleuthera would be like a dream. That trip was better than all my birthdays and Christmas put together. I want to go back! Oh, well... I'm such a sap. Just sitting here on a Sunday evening reminiscing of some amazing times with some even more amazing people. :)

It's been too long

IMG_0011So it's definitely been way too long since I last updated. For quite a few months I've totally neglected my xanga and traded it in for Facebook and Myspace. A lot of people have deleted their Xangas, but I knew eventually I'd miss this thing and want to put up a post... Unlike many people I know, I do miss the days of Xanga. Of course there are some drawbacks that separate it from Facebook and Myspace, but there is one thing that Xanga will always have over other blog sites: People's lives are revealed in every post on Xanga. On Facebook and Myspace it's all a bunch of small-talk, and rarely do people post a "note" or a "blog". I have 7 notes on my Facebook which is more than anybody else I know. Compare that to all of the blog posts on my Xanga. You see, the cool thing about Xanga was that people revealed their emotions, their problems, their joys, their lives on Xanga, and for someone to post a comment they would have to see all of that. That just doesn't happen of Myspace and Facebook where everything about everyone often seems at arms length. I miss the days of Xanga, and I wish more people thought the same as me...

Oh, and about the picture. That's me and Dave in Eleuthera on last year's mission trip. It's sad we aren't having the trip this year. I miss all the people who went last year. I have some really great times to look back and smile on from that trip. :)

FightinIrishI can't believe it. Notre Dame won!!!! They actually pulled it off! After going down 17-0 in the first quarter, they came back and scored 19 points in the fourth quarter to beat Michigan State 40-37! Wow! How bout Brady? He had a slow start, but ended up with 319 yards and 5 TDs. Ha! I know you guys probably don't care as much as I do, but oh well.

Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send the volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky,
What though the odds be great or small
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to Victory.

GO IRISH!!!!

I know it's been 4ever since I last updated so here's what's on my mind l8ly... If it were not for me being on Student Senate, then I don't think that I would be going to homecoming. It's not that I think that homecoming will turn out bad. This year's homecoming should end up much better than last year's. I just don't want to go to some semi-formal / formal homecoming without a date. Someone asked me last week who I was taking to homecoming. I said, "Nobody." That made me think. I realized that I could not even think of a girl I would want to ask (that would be in town). Even more, I realized that I could not even think of a girl that I am generally interested in. My mentality probably has a lot to do with that. Whether I have been right or wrong, over the past year I have pretty much accepted the fact that I am "untouchable" when it comes to the whole idea of guy / girl relaionships. Is there some sort of unwritten rule that everyone know that I'm never supposed to be given a chance? That's alright though -- I guess. Besides, I still have football. Ha! It's amazing how much I love football lol... Well, I hope life is treating everyone well. Leave some comments, and maybe I'll start posting some more lol.

"Incase I don't see you. Good afternoon, good evening, and good night." -Jim Carrey The Truman Show

Ha! I've been wanting to post that quote for a while. It's been a quite a while since I last posted that on here... Ok, cya l8r. :)

Roger on the run Well, so far football and school have been pretty enjoyable. Senior year seems about 317.65% easier than junior year so far even with taking two AP classes. It's a lil bit like j-term except that there's more to do... Our football team is pretty sweet this year. In the preseason we went 2-0, winning both times by more than 35 points. Our first game against Miami East proved our abilities even more so with a 35-7 win. Last night our game against Northridge was encouraging and infuriating at the same time. We should have blown them out, and we would have if it weren't for a handful of plays. On the first play of the game our kickoff team let Northridge score on a 97 yard return. By half time we were down 13-6. The game looked pretty grim at the end of the third quarter with a score of 19-6. Towards the last five minutes of the game we were down 26-12, but we still had some business to do. With only a couple minutes left, we put together a long drive and scored making it a 26-19 game. Under two minutes were left. We kicked one onside kick... We had to kick it again... We recovered the second onside kick which led to a 40 some yard drive including a 20 plus yard run by Roger Smith, puting us at the one yard line. With 9 seconds left to go and no timeouts, the game came down to the last play. We were stopped and we lost the game with a final score of 26-19... We played an amazing game except for a handfull of dumb mistakes like a 97 yard openning kickoff return and turning the ball over 3 or 4 times. We definitely have the skill. We just need to work out the kinks... Well, there's my long update. Cya l8r. :)

High School Stories So school starts Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it for a couple of reasons. For one thing, I have really missed everyone and school (as boring as it can be sometimes) gives a good excuse to hang out with people. Another reason is that the first home game comes on the same week as the first week of school (we're playing Miami East on Friday). Finally, above all, it's my senior year and I'm taking classes like Art 2, Yearbook, and Junior Enterprise (not so excited about the AP Calc though lol)... This year is going to be so much fun. Who knows? Maybe this year I'll come up with something worthy enough to be on MTV's show "High School Stories" lol... Wait a second. I didn't say that lol.

Well, hope you guys are all doing great.

*I haven't updated in a long time 'cause I found out a few weeks ago that my mom found this site and is reading it now. I don't know. It just makes it kind of awkward 'cause this site is where I socialize with friends when I'm not with my friends. It's not like I don't talk to my mom about the honest stuff thats going on in my life either so I don't see why she thinks she needs to read this thing to *monitor* my life... Oh, well. That's life... Ttyl.
