| New shoots spread their short arms outwards - erected leafy catapillars of the underbrush. Ants amass. They do work I do not do Because I am unemployed, unemployed, unemployed!

| Oh Dublin,
city of lights that never go to sleep
city of tourists that go "$@*!, $@*!, $@*!"
city of shops selling the clover
city of drinking 'til the day is over
city of hen parties, 'gardies,' and pubs playing american top farties
city of streets peppered with bottle caps and gum
city of empty cans, bottles of whisky and rum
city of brick hearts, and wiley tongues
city of grey skies, and blackened lungs
Yes, Dublin was an experience to be had, and Matt and I had it. We
thouroughly enjoyed our weekend trip, got our culture on by visiting
nearly all the local museums and galleries, and met some cool
Californian hippy-travellers, Becky and Jeremy.
Our time in Oxford is almost at a close as well. Our papers are due
tomorrow, and we fly out to Norway on Thursday. It's been fun to stay
here in this old brick mansion, but the rest of Europe is calling.

| A Xanga Post, to rule all Xanga posts:
I am sad to always visit my xanga and see that, alack, I have not yet updated it. Facebook - what a nemesis, what a foe.
I liked Xanga. I liked it so.
And since our laptop has broke, and all other computers are slow, I
will leave matthewandlinnea.com for a while, and return to xanga to
update you all on our going ons.
For now, just a bit, since it's the middle of paper-writing week, and I shouldn't cramp my fingers on blogging.
We are nearing the end of our stint in Enland. We've been here since
the 20th, or so, with a couple of fine but hazy days in London at the
beginning (I was experiencing post-nuptial trauma in a very physical
way). We then headed off to Oxford, which is in fact, I guarantee, a
city and not just a University. In fact, it's not quite even a
University, but a collaboration of colleges that have agreed to call
themselves, together, a University. Very cheery.
We've had a few delightful visits, including one from Matt's
godfather,
Gord, and Gord's two granddaughters. We have been able to catch up with
the Colyers, Madeleine, and Elisabeth Dutton - the people who formed
Matt's first Oxford experience several years ago. They are wonderful
people, and although they are Brits, are quite fond of making eye
contact indeed. On Sunday, we had a visit from a fellow Trinity-ite -
Sarah Weigum. She brought along her cousin, and we all went punting on
the Cherwell river. Tomorrow, we might be able to share some company
with
Matt's sister, Hannah, which would be a great treat.
And now, I will try for some pics.

| So after playing around on a lovely little website, I've been told my celeb lookalike is Natalie Imbruglia.
