| | A Xanga Post, to rule all Xanga posts:
I am sad to always visit my xanga and see that, alack, I have not yet updated it. Facebook - what a nemesis, what a foe.
I liked Xanga. I liked it so.
And since our laptop has broke, and all other computers are slow, I
will leave matthewandlinnea.com for a while, and return to xanga to
update you all on our going ons.
For now, just a bit, since it's the middle of paper-writing week, and I shouldn't cramp my fingers on blogging.
We are nearing the end of our stint in Enland. We've been here since
the 20th, or so, with a couple of fine but hazy days in London at the
beginning (I was experiencing post-nuptial trauma in a very physical
way). We then headed off to Oxford, which is in fact, I guarantee, a
city and not just a University. In fact, it's not quite even a
University, but a collaboration of colleges that have agreed to call
themselves, together, a University. Very cheery.
We've had a few delightful visits, including one from Matt's
godfather,
Gord, and Gord's two granddaughters. We have been able to catch up with
the Colyers, Madeleine, and Elisabeth Dutton - the people who formed
Matt's first Oxford experience several years ago. They are wonderful
people, and although they are Brits, are quite fond of making eye
contact indeed. On Sunday, we had a visit from a fellow Trinity-ite -
Sarah Weigum. She brought along her cousin, and we all went punting on
the Cherwell river. Tomorrow, we might be able to share some company
with
Matt's sister, Hannah, which would be a great treat.
And now, I will try for some pics.
