| Dot sent me a mother's day e-card It's a cute one with animated Pandas. I was glad to finally hear from her. I hope she contacts me again soon. I would like it if she and Steve came by, or let me come to where they are at so I can catch up with what's going on with them.
************** I wasn't going to come out at all today, since it is cold and rainy, but I had to do some food shopping and put in some prescriptions. I have other things to do too, but I'll do them later this week. I was hoping to use the slow computers where I live at, but the lab wasn't open today. I wish they could find more dependable people to run it. *************** As I was leaving where I l ive at today, I saw that the police were there again. They wanted to talk to one of the other residents about something . The receptionist where I live at said she wasn't sure he was in, but the officer wanted to go up anyway. | | |
| There is still hope in the world  On my way to the bus stop today, I walked by the couple that sell papers at 29th and Charles( thats where I buy the sunday paper when I can) I told them I couldn't today, because I have to budget everything right now. They gave me a sunday paper for free and wished me a"happy mothers day". I thought it was sweet of them, and I was surprised. I went to ODB. They were still making fun of that guy that got arrested for being a preditor. I say they are lucky most people don't know he was "homeless" otherwise the cops would be all over everyone there more. I thought it sad when someone said the guy was in jail because someone"snitched" on him. I saw his picture on the news last night, and I realize that I have seen him around ODB and HCH. I know I'm lucky the jerk didn't try to mess with me. **************** We had a small fire where we live at around 7-7:30 pm last night. It wasn't on my floor, but I left my room as soon as the alarm sounded. I could smell it in the hall( cooking fire, I bet they get those alot). I wet down the stairs quickly, but about the 10th floor, some old lady slowed me down. I'm glad no one was behind me at the time, or I'd have to make her move faster. After they got the fire out,"Ms. W" from the 7th floor, wasn't watching what she was doing, and tripped hard to the sidewalk. I ran around to get a fireman, but they were driving off. I told our building guard, and she called the paramedics. I hope Ms. W is ok. **************** Today,lol, as we were waiting for the library to open, one of the guards from the basilica came over and said the library wasn't going to open today. some people believed him, but I showed him the paper I had where I had a computer reserved. I told him it will be open next sunday too. I guess he had little to do at the church. *************** Speaking of church, I found out that the "Guardian Angel" Episcopal church is close to where I live at. I'm a little put off by the episcopal church right now though, because when I was homeless a few years ago around Christmas, the church I was a member at at the time couldn't find a place for me to stay at all( they were more than willing to take the donations I gave on sundays and when ever else I was there though). I have been feeling the urge to go to Rev. Brewers church again (the one I was a member of when I lived at Karis) but I know that will cause trouble. Tory is probly still in charge of Karis, and with her there, I'd still have bad feelings about her allowing people to steal from me while I was there. If God wills it, I'll find another church I'll be happy with. To me, the world is a church^_^ | | |
| Just like I thoughtWhile waiting in line today at ODB, I overheard several men talking about an arrest that police have made in the case of a sex predator in the area where I live. As I expected, it was one of the men who eat at ODB(I don't know him though, thank God) the men who were talking about it were joking about it. I hope it doesn't give them any ideas. This is one of the reasons I don't " date" right now, as I said before the kind of men I usually have access to are ones I don't want to date. I know not all of the men at ODB are criminals, but there has to be a reason they are homeless... I seriously doubt they have the excuse I had when I was homeless...and I know I don't want to end up with some jobless bum( disabled is ok... but if I get involved with a man again, he'd better have a job and a place to live,lol, one that I can visit to make sure what he says is the truth). I notice more hispanics going to ODB too, lately. Also, I thought they stopped this, but some guy was walking around asking people if they had a"state issued ID" and wanted to make some quick money. Don't the ones who might take the guy up on this know that if he uses their ID for one thing, he would probly use it for other things too? Oh yeah, I heard the other day that they are finally going to close"bum park". Baltimore city govt finally came up with some sort of agreement with the pastor of St. Vincent de Paul church to shut it down. I think it was a wise decision. The city is also going to have"rangers" clean up the area and direct the homeless elsewhere. | | |
| Forgot to write something earlier...I ran into someone on the elevator yesterday, and again this woman made a comment about my skin and asked me how I kept it so nice, I told her I thought it was a mess, and she said it looks like a"baby dolls" skin. I never have used much make up on it and I don't smoke, so I usually look younger than alot of women my age( I see some changes though,lol). I think it's true though that when you have some kinds of "illnesses" that human skin takes on a type of "translucence" about it. My skin is relatively clear. I do have a few flaws I may try to get removed one day, but as long as they don't hurt me, they might as well stay. I'd hate to have a cutting tool near my eyes anyhow,lol | | |
| Another rainy day in BaltimoreI really wasn't going to come downtown today,but I decided I needed to suppliment what food I did have by coming to ODB. I noticed an older woman I knew a little has a black eye. I didn't ask her about it, but knowing what I know about such things there, she either got into a fight with another woman, or a bf or her adult son hit her. I don't know why people get into these situations where people hit them regularly. Then they get "tricked" into believing that the one that hits them "loves" them. Ah well, it's their life. **************** The woman that was suppose to keep the computer room open in the evening where I live at has backed down. I hope someone else does it, because the time I commonly use the lab there is in the evening. | | |
