the sun shines on this hot summer day,
but the rain clouds roll in to ruin the sky.
heavy and dark with the smell of sadness,
they creep over the spot where i stand.
as the rain pours down my head thrusts back,
depression surrounds me like a wool blanket.
im drenched from head to toe,
lost in the vast emptiness of time.
the rain seems never-ending,
sadness not far behind.
i look to the thundering heavens,
and pray for the sun to let its rays beam down.
the silence grows to a dull roar,
lightning will surely follow.
standing in the rain,
alone and scared.
the sun will come soon,
surely,
the sun will come soon.
