| Goodbye Cruel World!I think that I have decided to make the dreaded move from xanga.com over to the darkside, myspace.com. From what I’ve heard, myspace is like xanga, but cooler. In some ways, it’s like upgrading from a Honda Accord to a Mustang or a Charger or some silly sports car that boys my age would drool over. In other ways, though, it’s not really like that at all.
Xanga, you have been a good friend. If I could hug you good-bye, I would, even though your name sounds like something I would ask the barista to put into my grande macchiato… Give me a venti mocha-mocha latte with a shot of xanga and a peppermint stick….
Word up.
Oh, by the way, if you would like to continue the journey, go to http://myspace.com/nashvegasgangster.

I can’t believe it’s now 2006, and the company I work for insists on us using printers from 1987. Yeah, we have those crummy ol’ dot matrix printers where all the pages come out in one big spool, perforated, with the nasty little guide holes down the side. Ridiculous I say. Ridiculous! I swear I haven’t used one of those sucky printers since elementary school. No word yet as to if we are going to upgrade from the Commodore 64 to the Apple II, so we can play “Lemonade Stand” and “Oregon Trail” in color.
| I made my annual trip to Cap’n D’s last night. It’s probably about once a year that I tell myself that Cap’n D’s is good, and that I should go eat it…I guess there’s some sick part of me that enjoys pain and stomach cramps, but whatever. So, I’ll end up getting food from there, eating, getting really queasy, and then vowing never to eat Cap’n D’s again. Curse you Cap’n. You have an evil hold on me that manifests itself every 365 days.
I was in Opry Mills over the holidays – you know, the big mall that is roughly shaped like a guitar. I don’t really know why they made the mall in that shape – I mean, obviously someone thought it would be cute and kinda folksy to make a guitar-shaped mall in Nashville, but c’mon…. (1) you can’t really tell it’s shaped like a guitar when you are inside it. You can probably only tell this if you are in a helicopter or hot-air balloon or something. (2) it’s not really that close to being shaped like a guitar – it’s just kinda round on one end and stores stick out the other end, and (3) who cares. I doubt there has ever been a discussion as to which mall to go to that one person was like, “well, this mall has a Baby Gap,” and the other person was like, “oh yeah, this one is shaped like a guitar” and the second person won the argument.
Other things I noticed from my trip to Opry Mills… (1) I never knew that the demand for “Big Dogs” type clothing warranted a whole stinkin’ store. No offense to anyone who likes the place, but I don’t know anyone who has ever shopped there. I can’t believe they can make a whole line of clothing out the phrase “if you don’t know the big dogs, blah blah blah… something about a porch”, (or something, I’m not sure. Like I said, I don’t shop there)… (2) the guys trying to get you to put the lotion on your hands are really annoying. There’s this little kiosk in the middle of the mall by Osh Gosh B’Gosh that tries to sell you hand lotions and creams and junk by asking every person that goes by if the would like to try a sample. Ugh. (3) the folks that work at Johnny Rockets are fantastic. Johnny Rockets is the little ‘50’s type diner where all the workers have to sing and dance. I’ve only eaten there once, and there food was kinda crappy, but I’d definitely go back again. I think it’s worth a couple of bucks to see high school kids humiliate themselves.
Ok, I think that’s it. The Steelers are in the Super Bowl. I’m quite excited.

Hey there boys and girls…
It’s been a real long time. I have been meaning to write, but with Christmas and Boxing Day and the Chinese New Year, I’ve just been so dang busy. You know how it is…
So I have a new job now. I now work for Saint Thomas Cardiology Consultants, which sounds a whole lot more professional and exciting than it really, truly is. It’s basically the same job and environment that I worked in before, except the cubicle is smaller, the bathrooms are dirtier, and the walls are egg-shell colored instead of light beige. Sadly, I had to get a new e-mail address, I am no longer able to check all of the great deals that I have signed up for over the last two years. I will miss all of you – word of the day, the Southwest Airlines Weekly Specials, the random updates from engrish.com and the odd “here is a fifth of the first chapter of a random book in our library” mailing list that I don’t remember signing up for, but enjoyed nonetheless. On a related note, my new email address doesn’t get nearly as much spam yet, so I don’t have as many opportunities to buy Viagra, I have won fewer Playstations, iPods, and lobster dinners, and nobody is trying to sell me a fake Rolex. So I guess it all evens out.
I have officially moved into the new house, which is nice and big and fun. I don’t have a whole lot of exciting or funny things to say about it yet. I’ve been here and there and everywhere so much, it sometimes seems like I only sleep there. So, in all actuality, the house is like a really big hotel room/suite, except there’s no maid to help me clean up or any mints on the pillow….
Other than that, I’m about the same. Addison lost two teeth this past week, which is good and seemed important enough to mention on some level. I’m sure none of you were out there wondering how many teeth Addison had lost, but whatever.
Alright, I guess that will have to be enough to sum up my last month or so. If you have any real questions that haven’t been answered yet, you’ll have to wait for the movie.
