I've learned...

- That spending time alone; resting, being still, quiet...is amazing.

- I don't always have to be busy. It's okay to just sit.

- Life doesn't revolve around friendships; or family; or work; or events; or being busy. The only security in life, the only true consistency, is Jesus Christ.

- I have a lot of surface level friendships...And I'm sure there are many of them I won't talk to after I graduate.

- The Word is our fuel; It answers every question truthfully and is our source of strength and life...

- Truly serving and loving is hard...and so humbling.

- Christians don't enjoy talking about Jesus as they should; they could talk for hours about their bf's or gf's but when it comes to Christ, people seem to not know what to say...Why is that, when He is our only real Lover?

- I'm totally freaked out by commitment and marriage thoroughly scares me.

- My strength fails me and my pride bruises me...I'm not all that like I thought I was...

Yet, Jesus continually pursues, loves, adores, and desires me...He is REAL.
"Where can I go from Your spirit, or where can I flee from Your presence..."

why is the battle of discontent with our lot in life and security/confidence in Christ so prevalent?

it's hard to grasp. on the one hand, we have God-given desires, wants, and needs...but, in our sin, we exploit them; we make them idols. What the Lord sees as beautiful, in His will, we twist and distort and place those desires above the Lord. and...the result is unhapiness, discontent, bitterness, anger.

then there's Christ: who offers complete safety, security, love...and we turn our noses up to it. we choose to go after our own wants, like they're substantial??

i struggle with lonliness. i struggle with seeing couples all over campus and knowing i dont have anyone. i struggle with having a desire my to be a wife overruling my desire to be loved by Jesus. i yearn for companionship while overlooking the fact that the greatest Companion is already there.

i'm so unfaithful...and He is faithful...

so, i'm walking down to the duck pond last night, and i pass two really tall black guys.
and what do i say?

"oh hey! let me guess...y'all are two new basketball guys, right?" like i'm best friends with them or something

they look at each other, look at me, give this "who are you?" snicker and go "thattttt's right."

so i'm doing a brain dumping; and using it to figure out what to do with my life.

-my passsions/what drives me
-my gifts/what im good at
-jobs ive had and what ive liked/disliked about them
-what turns me off
-personality characteristics
-what people have said they see me doing.

the last one is where you come in to play. help me.
what should i be when i grow up?

this is me upset because i'm a silly girl with no direction in life.

so, it's pretty clear that I have an ESFJ personality.
I took another of the tests with my management book, just to make sure...sure enough, I was. oh, and cool thing; they told me what I was like and what type of job I should get or what I'll be. check it out:

"You're gracious, have good interpersonal skills, and are eager to please. Possible career as social worker, optometrist, childcare workers, nun."

so im walking around campus, doing stuff for work...when i walk by someone, i like to smile at them.

so, im walking towards this boy ive never seen before; freshman? transfer? i dont know. but it looked like he had had a rough morning, or a long night. so, i give him a special smile.

and he flashes back one of the most beautiful smiles ive ever seen and his face completely lit up. it was like a fairy tail.

so, smile guy...if you read this: marry me?
