  • PURPOSE AND DIRECTION

Today I reflect on "purpose and direction".  Walking the journey of life is going no where when there is no purpose and direction.  I realize sometimes we feel like we may be going no where.  I have learned how powerful it is to steal those moments of rest and contemplation and become aware that within ourselves we can find our purpose and direction which makes us come alive.  God has made us so unique and sometimes we are looking in so many places but when we go back home (inner self) we discover that there is an inner journey and there is a purpose and direction for our lives.  The question that comes to my heart when I walk with others "Where is God in all this?" :)

  • THE COURAGE TO FOLLOW YOUR OWN PATH

In these days my energy level has been low and therefore I have been very selective how I utilize my energy.  Presently recovering from a heal spur, very painful especially when you need to be on your feet daily visiting different nursing homes.  I'm also teaching Soul Care (chaplaincy courses) and teaching to a group of twenty can be a bit draining especially after work...:)  All to say is that I truly enjoy what I'm doing but realize my body physically can't take the same stress or work load as in my younger days..:)  So I choose  to steal moments to rest and especially those power naps that can be very energizing..:)  I realize that on my present journey I am focused on following the path that I know God wants me to follow.  Many can tell you what direction to go but how wonderful it is to have a relationship with God, who guides you even when there are many paths to choose from.  This is not to ignore that discernment is key and listening to within is so  important.  This year I have to admit that I have the courage to follow the path for me..:)  Blessings to all...with lots of love.

  • HEART BROKEN

On the journey of life we experience brokenness in many ways, but how wonderful it is for our soul to remain unshaken.  When I reflect on this I definitely believe that it is a decision that we make to keep our eyes focused on the light even when it is dim....blessings to all..:)

“The heart may be broken, and the soul remain unshaken.”

  • SOUL LISTENING

Today I reflect on the resurrection and I'm encouraged on the importance in listening closely to my soul.  My soul has thirst for the divine, I'm present daily unto the mystical presence of my Lord, I surrender who I am to the ultmost, and realize that my life is in the creator's tender hands.  Oh how rejoicing it is to know that I'm never alone, and that the gentle God is always with me..:)

  • THE GIFT OF FINDING JOY EVERYWHERE

My trip to NYC went well re work and spending time with family and friends.  I was happy that it wasn't too cold.  2008 has been so far a peaceful reflective journey for me.  I'm enjoying my work, my daughter, and being contemplative.  I thank God for life and everything I have.  I remember when I lived in NYC I enjoyed being with people, but in South Florida I enjoy so much more including being contemplative and being grateful for what I have..:)  I'm learning about the gift of finding joy everywhere..:)

“There are souls in this world which have the gift of finding joy everywhere and of leaving it behind them when they go.”

—Frederick Faber (1814-1863), theologian and hymn writer
