Best summer ever.

so today was voting day in ohio. So to promote a Smoke Free Ohio Med students went out to the polling areas to see if people understood the issues so that they could make an informed decision. This one couple comes walking by smoking a cig. He puts it out on a trash can right in front of us and keeps walking into the voting area. As they are walking out they take out their packs of cigs and start packing them. They stare at us and start talking. As they drive by they stop their Red pickup truck and roll down the window. The women looks out and says "did u steal those white coats from the hospital?" We repsond by saying no and that we are medical students. Then the women says ohhhhhh. Like that for some reason makes everything more clear. She then says "well you will never be my doctor", in a midwest accent. Well im standing there thinking about who would say such a thing. Well she may not want me as her doctor and I may not see her, but I know some doctor will eventually. Does this even make sense. Shes putting me down when shes the one that will most likely get COPD and/or lung cancer. Yea you are really getting me good!!

Issue 4 is paid for by Philip Morris and allows smoking in public places in Ohio. The whole campaign was that it will reduce smoking in other places and restrict it to only bars, reataurants, bowling alleys, and etc.. They wanted people to allow this because they tell people it will reduce smoking in other places. But you cant smoke there right now anyways. I swear money is power. They also said it restricts your freedom to do what you want. Since when could we do whatever we want. We cant drink on the street and run over ignorant people.

On a brighter note. This one lady comes by and drops off coffee from Tim Hortons to keep us warm. Then 10 minutes later this other older guy brings some more coffee to keep us warm. Thesee people make this world a better place.
