| | The Awful Truth About Dattebayo http://www.dattebayo.com/pr/43 http://pepper.idge.net/slashdot/philipinos/
What is Dattebayo? They're a group of losers who add subtitles to Japanese cartoons and illegally distribute it on the net. They have no lives whatsoever and spend all their
time in their little IRC chat room--about the only place in the world where they can muster any respect. It's sad, really...and it's probably because they can't earn any respect in the real world.
I was almost content to let them live in their sad little fantasy world peacefully until they messed with my people by posting a completely racist article... and they weren't even creative enough to write something on their own (they probably couldn't, as most of them are illiterate backwoods trash). So what they did was find some old racist post/rant from six years ago. Let's talk about this "article" entitled "The Awful Truth About Filipinos," shall we?
The author's first main assertion is that Filipinos aren't Asian and shouldn't even be associated with "real" Asians like Chinese, Japanese, or Koreans. According to him:
Nothing in Filipino Culture can be seen as asian. They have no
architectural, artistic, or cultural influence which is in ANY way, asian.
Thinking of the great countries in Asia such as Japan, Korea, and China there is no way you can possibly connect the Philippine Islands.
Who ever said that you had to have influence from one of those countries to be considered Asian? Sadly, this is the kind of ignorant statement I'd expect from a narrow-minded, dumb American who probably hasn't even heard of any other countries in Asia besides China, Japan, and Korea. I think that author and the crack-heads at Dattebayo need to go back and take some basic history/geography lessons.
The author's next big complaint is that young Filipinos love to act like they're Japanese, Chinese, Black, Hispanic, or any other race besides Filipino. He uses a few ridiculously generalized examples to "prove" his point... 1. Young Filipino men have become obsessed with "import racing" 2. Filipinos talk and act a certain way in chatrooms, forums, websites, etc.
This is hilarious because he acts as if Filipinos are the only ones who got into the whole "import racing" scene, when in fact, "import racing" became popular among young men of all races...didn't he ever hear of "The Fast and The Furious"? What is his point anyway? That you have to be Japanese to buy a Japanese car? That you have to be Chinese to appreciate Chinese culture and language? He sounds like the next Hitler to me... About the chatroom thing...just check any chatroom with teenagers and you'll see that it's not just the Filipinos who talk like that. Idiot.
Another irritating thing the author does is use the word "third world" in way that is all at once arrogant, derogatory, and condescending. Dumb American. As if he did something special to be born in a "first" world country. Ironically, he probably would've turned out to be a better person if he had grown up in a third world country. As it is, he turned out to be a complete jerk.
The author's conclusion is just more of the same nonsense. For example:
Can you demonstrate how you use Confucianism or Taoism in you everyday, life?? You can't.
Can you write a paragraph without making a grammar or spelling mistake?? You can't. Sorry. You fail it. Oh by the way, out of Korea, China, Japan, and the Philippines, who speaks the best English? OH MY GOODNESS, IT'S THE FLIPS. WHO'S THE MAN NOW DAWG??? You grew up in America and can't even spell or form coherent sentences as well as a Filipino can, so before trying to insult other people, maybe you should run the spell check on your post so you don't look like a complete jackass when people see all your spelling and grammar mistakes.
PS--Hey Dattebayo? It's spelled 'Philippines' and 'Filipinos' -- get it right next time you freaking morons. UPDATE: Dattebayo corrected the misspelling of the Philippines...and they linked this page too. Thanks guys! Let the stalking begin!
PSS--To this day, there is still no proof that the Filipino TV station aired a DB fansub. To those who still need more convincing, click here for decisive testimony. |
