By necessity, I'm giving you all a brief update on my life. I'd like you to think of this as a description of my life in a nutshell. But, for the purposes of clarity, I feel it most proper to define the
type of nutshell for fear that you might imagine, say, a walnut or some other disproportionally large nut. This is, in fact, no where near the size of a walnut. Indeed, it barely approaches peanut shell size. In actuality, we're looking at a pistachio-nutshell sized update on my life. Having clarified this important matter and properly ensuring no misunderstanding between author and reader, shall we proceed?
My Summer: was boring, really. All I did was work. Some work, admittedly, was more enjoyable. If asked for a hierarchy, it may read thus:
Summer's Best Work: On modifications to my truck.
Summer's Mild Work: Work at home, house projects, etc.
Summer's Worst Work: My job at Home Depot. It sucked. Still does, actually. And to use the proper tense, it sucks.
My Classes: start in three short days. I am taking Math 011, Theater 290 (American Theater up to 1865), History 156 (American History from Colonial to 1865), Government and Politics 100, and University 101 (required first semester class for all freshmen [meh]). I will continue to work during school. Oh, and I'm commuting to school from home. One of my summer projects was transforming my bedroom into a dorm room.
So that is really all the important stuff. Random misc. stuff: I got a new computer (macbook laptop baby!!). I am excited about school. I started going to a new church, Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg. That is all, really. This pistachio shell now has a pretty nice little green nut.
"It's the way you look at me. It makes me want to ... um ... lay an egg." (they are short lyrics. read them. they are good)Gravity is working against me. And gravity wants to bring me down.
Oh I'll never know what makes this man, with all the love that his heart can stand,
Dream of ways to throw it all away
Oh gravity is working against me. And gravity wants to bring me down.
Oh twice as much ain’t twice as good, and can't sustain like one half could.
It's wanting more, it's gonna send me to my knees
Oh gravity, stay the hell away from me.
Oh gravity, has taken better men than me
Now how can that be?
Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
C’mon keep me where the light is
C’mon keep me where, keep me where the light is.
That is all for now, I have [almost] nothing left to say. Thank you for reading those short lyrics. They were from my heart. As to the egg quote -- well you'd understand it if you grew up in the '90's and watched "We're Back" over and over again. If that's not you, don't worry about it. Hopefully there will be more pistachio nutshells to come. I hope all of you, my dear readers, stalkers, friends, and family are enjoying your own lives as well. All I have to say is ... stay away from gravity....
