| Oh What a Weekend..... Friday night - After work, I went with nvru mind to see The Dark Knight. I won't say anything other than GO SEE IT!!!!!!! Saturday night - Love Fest 2008. The participants: me, nvru mind, panopticon, Major D, MD's friend S-e, muffinsgirl, muffinman, and muffinman's cousin C. Location: Hawaiian Adventures Water Park
Having come from a family dinner, I rushed over with nm to the water park. That drive reminded me of the times I used to go to Tracks with my friends, speeding down H-1 trying to get there as fast as we could. And we made it in perfect timing because right when we pulled into our parking stall, we see MD walking by. We met up with the gang and the adventures began!
It was a really nice night, the sky was clear, a almost full moon was shining bright, and a nice, cool breeze was blowing. The setup was also very nice. The DJ stand was elevated higher and provided a better view of the DJs, the speakers were huge, and the lasers were awesome. They also had a three light stands situated through out the dance area, which really helped permeate the atmosphere throughout the dance area and not just up front near the DJ stand.
The music, at the time, ranged from good to slammin' beats. Now that I think about it, DJ Reza and Junior Sanchez were just okay, and DJ Icey was great. It's also interesting to note that for me, it usually is about the music, ie great music equals great times. I mean I love it when the music is awesome and I'm grooving to the beat dancing my ass off. But this year, it wasn't so much about the music as it was about the company and atmosphere. I seemed to enjoy it and had an awesome time because I was there with great friends, the vibe was great and positive, and the weather just perfect. Also different for this year was that I had to leave early, ie not staying till the end, because of a cousin's grad party the next day, which was fine with me since I was feeling a bit fuddy-dud and old. Even though I left early, I still was feeling great on the drive home. It was a trip to be driving with the windows opened, the wind blowing on your face, the stereo pumping some nice mellow beats by Kaskade, talking with nm about anything. And interesting enough, the party ended right after I dropped her off.
Overall, it was a really great night. It was great seeing everyone and having a blast. It's a bit sad to think that it'll be another 365 days before I get to do this again. And yet, I feel happy having my memories of Saturday night. Let the good times roll.
Lastly - Happy Birthday nvru mind!

| What are some of your favorite music (artist/songs) for: 1. Exercising 2. For a fight scene 3. To hype/pump you up, ie prepare you for "battle" 4. To mellow out to
If you're curious as to why I am asking about music, I'm looking for new music/ideas for my WoW videos. My guild has been doing a lot of new content lately, which means a lot of new videos to make. The only problem is I'm having a harder time finding music to accompany these videos. My current staple of music has been stuff like Rob Zomibe, Ministry, Ed Rush, Christopher Lawrence, basically music with a nice quick pace/tempo to them.

| Another Year. First of all, thanks to everyone (nvru mind, panopticon, major d & shibire, juantimer & joooo, fordman & gin) who came out for dinner, drinks, and some clubbing this past Saturday to celebrate my birthday.
Dinner was at Mediterraneo, which was just as good as the last time I went. Too bad parking is junk, as we've seen peeps having to circle around the block a few times. But it was good food, good drink, and good and interesting conversations. The black ravioli was delicious! It was even better when nm asked for bread and we used the bread to scoop up the sauce. Yummy! Drink count: 1.5 glasses of wine, 1 beer
For post-dinner I originally wanted to hit Rumors nightclub for a bit of cheesiness but decided on Ryan's Bar and Grill since we all could go. Again, good drinks and conversation were to be had. It was a little turn-off that after we order our drinks we find out their happy hour was to start in approximately 5 minutes. Ha! Well because of that I didn't feel like having any pupus! Actually, I was content filling myself with alcohol. Drink count: 3 mixed drinks, 1 beer
For post-post dinner, nm, pan, md, and I hit the Living Room, where pan's friend DJs. Pretty cool place. The hip hop room had a nice view of the Kewalo Basin area. The house area was small but still good. Unfortunately I started getting a bad headache, and I think it was because I am a year older. Or maybe I just didn't drink enough water throughout the night. The headache was manageable at first but it slowly got worse. It didn't help the music was loud and increased the pounding in my head. Ugh. Drink count: 1 mixed drink, 1 bottle of water
All in all, it was a great night. Thank you to all who came. Here's to another year!

| Yesterday while driving home, I decided to quit smoking. It helped that I had only 2 left and I was feeling way too lazy to drive to the store. Anyways, I am now smoke free. FREEDOM! Surprisingly it has been quite easy, no cravings, no weird withdraw
A funny thing I saw at Safeway:
Ziploc sandwhich bags, 50 count, with the Safeway discount card: 2 for $5.00 right next to that: Ziploc sandwhich bags, 100 count, regular price: $4.79
Someone didn't think that one through.
Almost forgot, but Obama won. I, for one, am quite happy. On the other hand, I think Hillary should've dropped out earlier, like when Obama had 60% of the party. I say that because in the last governor's election, the Democrats were fighting among themselves so much that when their candidate made it to the finals, she looked really beaten up and unprepared, while the Republican candidate looked fresh and ready to fight. Yes, every candidate has the right to keep fighting, but sometimes they have to look at the bigger picture and what is better for the party.
