I just finished reading the seventh Harry Potter book. I cannot believe I read every single one for the first time this summer. It is kinda ridiculous...but Awesome. Jessica thinks I got obsessed...you escape into Harry, Anneliese. Ah, but they were so good!

Let's talk.

What...homework? School?

It just hit me last night that the real reason I am at Bogazici is because I am a  student. You know...homework, tests, and class? I was just having to much fun sightseeing and basking in the beauty of Bogazici campus in Istanbul! I totally loved the first day of class though---I have the most amazing, graceful, patient teachers! I think this summer will help me learn to love learning and school again. I like the idea of that. I have pictures to post but for some reason all of them are about a square inch--can't figure out why. I will probably post several pictures on my Turkey blog in the near future...

1.5 days to take off!

Dear lovely, delightful, wonderful friends,

I leave for Istanbul Saturday morning. I am pretty sure that a fantastic, scary, thrilling, challenging, and satisfying adventure awaits me. I have to say that I am very much looking forward to the whole thing. This will be the first time I fly internationally by myself. This is the longest I will have ever been away from home...let alone in a foreign country. This will be the first time that I will not be allowed to speak English for extremely long periods of time. So, you see...I am a bit overwhelmed. Scared even. You must know, however, that I take much comfort in the fact that I will be with Chelsea and Jessica. Thank goodness for a support network, eh?

Also, I know some of you may have heard of the politically and socially strained situation currently in Turkey. Please do not fear or be worried for me. I feel extremely safe where I am going.

As for updating...I will try to give a few updates on xanga while I am gone. I will miss you all! I would love to get emails (aknox@email.arizona.edu). Again, the three turkeys will be regularly updating on www.threeturkeys.blogspot.com if you are interested...

Ah! See you all in August!!!

love,
Anneliese

::Ode to Joy::

'Tis a joyous season when---you are done with school, you attended your cousin's wedding (the first of the cousins to go!), you went to chapter camp in lovely Colorado, you turn 21 in less than two days, and when you have a summer in historic, beautiful, rich Istanbul to look forward to. Ah, yes...

I would like to chronicle some highlights from my cousin Isaac's wedding for you. This event was a big deal for my family because it was the first cousin/child/grandchild to get hitched in the Tait/Knox Family! Enjoy...

Isaac's Wedding 035 Me & Pops at Isaac's wedding in CA.

Isaac's Wedding 041 Isaac right before the ceremony. What a handsome Marine, eh?

Isaac's Wedding 038 Me, Mimi, & my Aunt Yvonne.

Isaac's Wedding 062My cousin Hannah (aka cute flower girl).

Isaac's Wedding 075 The rest of the cousins: Nathan, Luke, & Josh.

Isaac's Wedding 085 Isaac & his beautiful bride, Rhondie.

Isaac's Wedding 090 8 Fellow Marines with their sabers drawn.

Isaac's Wedding 112 He's happy...

Isaac's Wedding 115 My hot parents.

Isaac's Wedding 121 Brothers who cannot smile...

Isaac's Wedding 136 Cute cousins, Abigail & Hannah.

Isaac's Wedding 153 Me and my cuz Nathan.

Isaac's Wedding 160 This was right after I pushed Abigail to the ground in attempt to grab the bride's bouquet (I touched it and almost had it!)...

So, there's my wedding adventure! Perhaps some pictures of chapter camp in CO will be coming soon. As for Turkey...Chelsea, Jessica, and I have a blog in which we will keep everyone updated on what crazy/exciting things we shall be up to this summer. We leave for Istanbul the middle of June and the language program starts on June 20th. Check us out at www.threeturkeys.blogspot.com. <3

peace.
