cardio:

  • jump rope = 30 minutes (10 sets of 3 min jumping + 1 min rest in between)

the service manager said that i would get a call at the end of last week to schedule a second interview with a club manager from 24 hour fitness. i still haven't that call. i'm thinking one of two things: 1) i really didn't do that well with the first interview and they're not interested; or 2) the club manager has just been very busy. i'm not sure what to think, but i hope it's the latter. or maybe i misunderstood and i should getting a call at the end of THIS week instead?

today is my rest day.

remember a week or so ago, i mentioned getting a call from a toll free number (like an 800 number or 888 number or 877 number), but i ignored it and then i got all sad because i thought it might have been someone trying to call me for a job interview? i'm now convinced that whoever called me at that time, called the wrong number and it was no one of any importance to me. how do i figure this? i got another call this morning from a toll free (888) number. i answered it and someone was trying to collect call me, meaning the caller was calling from a pay phone and didn't have money to call, but used a number to call for free to whoever. i think 1-800-collect is still a real, existing number for people who need to call someone for free, but don't have the money for a pay phone. i haven't seen the commercial advertising that number in a very long time because pay phones are becoming almost extinct and everyone is resorting to cell phones now.

anyway, i got a call this morning from someone trying to collect call me. i didn't recognize the name because the dude mumbled. also, the automated operator or whatever said that it came from a detention facility, meaning this is where cops put criminals at after the criminals get arrested. i don't know anyone who does any crime because NONE of my friends have never gotten in trouble with the law to the point that they get arrested! i DO NOT get along with criminals at all. my friends have only gone as far as getting speeding tickets. oh my god, i didn't accept the call...i just hung up because i didn't want to speak to a criminal. i especially do not want a stranger to ask me for money to bail him out of jail and i really don't want to bail a criminal out of jail either.

cardio:

  • jogging = 4.6 miles, time = 43:41, pace @ 9:30

for the first time in a long while, i had a runner's high and my breathing - bringing in more oxygen into my lungs - felt really good during the run. i would have ran on this 1/2 mile loop trail at the halfway point, but there were cows gazing on the grass and vegatation there. it was fenced off - people are still allowed to walk or run on the trail, but it was only to keep the cows from excaping and roaming around all over town - and even though i think cows are cute, i'm afraid that they might chase me for getting to close to them since there are baby cows with them. i really do not want to get between the mom and the baby. i stopped at the fence to tie my shoes before i turned around to run back home. as soon as i stopped, the cows saw me and started walking towards the fence. i just had to smile because they can't get to me with a fence in their way.

i don't get a runner's high everytime i go out for a run. i wonder when i'll get this again.

cardio:

  • karate (afternoon class) = 2 hours

didn't do any MMA/wrestling related stuff in class today. this was the first time since january. there weren't enough students to show up. when it's nice weather out, people want to go play outside.

cardio:

i had planned on doing a 4.5 mile run at the recreational park. around 1.4 miles into the run, i took a quick restroom break. at this point, i was still about five minutes or so (in running speed) away from my car. during restroom break, my cell phone fell on the floor and stopped working because it broke and i didn't know how to fix it.  i don't think there was any way to save it either. the phone could turn on where the lcd display screen and bottons lit up, but nothing would appear on the lcd display screen like the time, contacts list (like my friends' phone numbers and stuff) and anything else. i couldn't press a button for something to show up on the lcd display screen. this when i really strarted stressing and freaking out because how was i suppose to make outgoing calls or receive incoming calls if the display screen didn't work? i'm also still waiting for a call to schedule a second interview with a club manager from 24 hour fitness and they don't have any other phone numbers to reach me at unless i call the service manager who i had the first interview with and let her know. i have her business card, even though i don't know if the number on the card is her direct number at work or the gym's number. this call is important to me no matter what the outcome is from the interview. anyway....now, if my phone had stopped working after i find out whether i got the job at 24 hour fitness or not, i'd still be mad, stressed and sad, but it wouldn't be so bad because i wouldn't be expecting important calls. i went to the verizon store after my run - that i couldn't finish without going hysterical and crazy - because my carrier is with verizon and where i got my old phone from even though i could get a phone from anywhere even like off the streets or from a grocery store...i had no choice to get a new phone, but that's actually quite ok with me because i didn't have to get a new number, or change calling plans. my contacts list was also transferred to the new phone. the original price for the phone was over $200. i think i heard the verizon person tell me that i got a discount because of the plan i was on and then i get another $50 off after rebate. so i got a good deal on the phone and in actuality, it costed $100. i told the verizon person about my problem and she said that if i got/get the new job, i should take her out to dinner. if she's allowed to have lunch or dinner with customers and if i do get the job, i'll take her up on that offer.  by the way, i still haven't recieved a phone call from a 24 hour fitness club manager....
