A definition was requested - auld lang syne is Scottish and can be literally translated as 'old long since', but more idiomatically as 'days gone by'. Sometimes a story is begun with "in the days of auld lang syne", which is pretty much the same as "once upon a time".

| On Mark FoleyI agree with 98%* of the things said in this great article, which I will title You're Just A Creep, Mark Foley.
Read both pages, it's funny and worth it.  Great parts: commentary on the purpose of the Congressional Page Program, the observation that most normal people who did what he did would be in JAIL right now and not REHAB, and personal testification that you can be gay, have underaged sexual activity, be a raging alcoholic and still not be a pedophile abusing the public trust*.
*I don't, however, agree with the implicit statement that anyone of legal age is fair game, even if that is the perspective condoned by law. If I'm 22 and 18 is too young for me and 19 is still quite distasteful, I'm not sure what a 40-year-old can see in them. I mean, come on. There are plenty of totally hot 30-year olds out there, go nibble on them. In all seriousness, I think that 18 is a good age of consent; it would stop these crazy teenagers from having sex with each other, but it will deter a good number of the skeezy old men/women population from mounting all-out seduction attempts, ugh. I remember how stupid and impressionable I was at 18, and how even more stupid and impressionable my sleeping-with-people-twice-their-age counterparts were---can you imagine how much worse that would be if the age of consent was 14?!
