| I'm sickened. Truly sickened. I know in the past I haven't had an opinion about anything and most of my friends think it's HORRIBLE to be so opinionated now (and they don't agree with my opinions most of the time) but really. I don't know how people can be brainwashed so easily into believing that someone is perfect JUST BECAUSE HE'S A CHRISTIAN --or so the tabloids say. That doesn't mean it's true. In fact, after the shinanigans that Mr. Bush has been putting on for us, I have considerable doubt. Just the fact that it's become so public is a sign that it could all just be politics. Especially since Christianity is a relationship between an individual and Christ. America shouldn't have a say one way or another. And then cursing at the national dinner...or breakfast...whatever it was...in front of millions of Americans. Hypocrite was the first word that popped into my head. And obviously Christians have cursed plenty, but I don't think a LEADER who is supposed to be "making a show of being a Christian" should have done that. At least it would have been more believable if he hadn't, even if he still was making a mockery of it. But if he truly is a Christian, I'm glad. That's one good thing...but that can't be the only reason we voted him in. Christianity isn't the whole deal when it comes to leading a country. You've gotta have more than that. And past the pro-life things, and trying to keep Christianity in schools and government, and after having plenty of times to feel sorry for him after his many accidents, what's left? I don't believe he's racist, like the people in New Orleans do. I don't believe he hasn't tried. But I do believe his accent is fake. No one else in his family has it, and you can't "develope" one just by living there for a few years (especially since he barely gets down to the ranch anymore. If it was real, he would have lost it by now anyway). I don't believe he got to Harvard on anything but his name and frankly, people shouldn't be able to get into college that way (or by way of money either). College grads don't mispronounce easy words. College grads know how to explain things. Bush, on the other hand.... And then there's the war. I don't like war. All of you know that. I don't like the death penalty either. Killing a person in any way for any reason is wrong. BECAUSE (and here poeple will freak out) we don't have the right to choose whether people live or die. We don't have the right to choose how or when. Killing is playing God. We're trying to play God. Humans should not be able to weild such power. EVER. No matter what the reasoning. And even if you want to kill someone for killing someone, it's still wrong. Revenge is petty. It isn't an eye for an eye anymore. A life in prison, that's a good enough punishment. BECAUSE EVERYONE AND ANYONE CAN COME TO CHRIST, even after murder. Sentencing to the death penalty is denying them that right. God is the one who chooses when death comes. But Bush sets up a war. And yeah I think we should have invaded and showed them that we were hurt but we weren't scared.....But we're still there, and for what reason? Now it's another Vietnam. Another country's war that we're meddling in. Send the troops home. This is my reasoning for not liking Bush that much. I don't hate him or anything. I agree with some of his attributes, but not everything. And the things I don't believe in are pretty big so.... -me |
