| The Dark Knight
Seriously....just go watch it. Awesome. Nothing in this movie was lacking...great plot, great acting, great action, great effects. This one is definitely gonna win some major oscars.

| Feeling a little blueUnfortunately feeling blue doesn't have anything to do with the Dodgers...but maybe it's the medicine I'm taking finally taking its toll on me since it IS one of the side effects of Accutane. So I got word back from the guys recovering the data on my hard drive and it looks like I lost like 1/4 of all my stuff all scattered around everywhere, but I pretty much lost ALL the mp3's I had. I guess that's kind of a good thing in a sense since, and I hate to admit this, but a lot of it was collected over the years from let's say...less than honest means. Most of it was from the hundreds of hours spent scouring the UCSD peer networks who had their mp3's up for sharing. Well, I guess it's a clean start....although I did spent quite a bit of money on iTunes music too which is a shame. I really wanted to keep my music collection for posterity sake since I do a lot of video editing and having that vast music collection at my fingertips was so helpful.
Anyway, having a rough time at work too, started a new phase of training and it's REALLY kicking my butt and it's made to just overwhelm you to death. Also just getting tired of the lack of comraderie in our squadron....morale is low and the leadership in our flight sucks. Can't wait to actually get to my line squadron...the one I'll be flying with in the future. I feel so detached and unmotivated with my career right now. Feeling behind and yet I'm not doing anything to be at the forefront, a leader per se. I need to change that....and improve my attitude. Well I guess I can blame that on the fact that I'm waking up waaaaay earlier than I'm used to (5-6am). I guess that needs to change too.
All I can say is....I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK TO L.A. and ESCAPE FOR A WEEK! 22 more days. And yes...I'm counting! Who wants to play?!
On a final note, I finally got my nose into a book that's been collecting dust the past year on my coffee table. "The Reagan Diaries" is a refreshing inside look at the 8 years that Reagan was in office. I just started so I'll divulge more on the book later.
P.S. Apple, I hope your stock goes up $10 tomorrow!!!! I'm counting on you to help me pay off my college loans!

| 2 years and going strong
So I promoted to first Lieutenant this week...and well....nothing has changed at all. Didn't have to do much though, just stay out of trouble and show up for work. Gotta love these automatic 2 year promotions at least until I hit Captain in another 2 more year. Then I'll have to wait around 8 years after captain to hit Major...but that's like 10 years from now. Anyway, the only real benefit of promotion is the fact that I now make more than what I'd be making had I never left L.A...and that's a good thing.
Nothing else much to write on right now, just having a hard time elaborating on my life...haven't been too motivated to type out my thoughts even though there seems to be some things going on. But I guess I can be cryptic:
-July 4th weekend tubing down the Illinois River
-Hard drive repair folks not having a successful time recovering data
-Hoping Apple shares hit $250+++++ with the iPhone release
-Coming home in exactly 1 month!!!!
-Aced my progress check yesturday
-Watching toooooo much tv, need to read that book sitting in front of me
-praying for Robin's mom
-Oil prices...GO DOWN!!!
-paid off all my cars (well my Coop and my mom's car) finally!
-eBay I love you!

| Just one of those weeks...Wanted to just quickly say that this is just one of those sucky weeks. Failed my progress check today although I aced the multiple choice part. Now I have to do additional training, blah blah blah. At least I noticing myself praying a lot more. It's funny though because for the first time in a while I actually feel emotion. I've been rather apathetic to life these last few months just doing the same old thing...but now that my entire career is really on the line now, it's just a fresh reality check. Man, when it rains it pours...a lot of the pain self-induced of course...all preventable to a certain extent. It's definitely a movie night this Friday.
I really hate sounding so negative.

| Crossing FingersMailed off my broken hard drive to Wisconsin to see if they can recover any of my data. Shipped it with an additional hard drive so I have a lot of hardware traveling with UPS. Hopefully my renter's insurance will help me cover the cost of repair although they don't actually cover the cost of "data recovery" so I'll somehow have to pull some strings to get all the legalities out of the equation and get me my precious information.
It just goes to show how much value a whole bunch of 0's and 1's have in today's virtual world. For me, it's going to cost me at least $800 to get my data back. But the stuff on there is definitely priceless! Anyway, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping....just hoping that nothing was lost. PLEASE!!!
Normally I refuse to pray about materialistic things because I don't believe God is a magical genie granting every little prayer, but yes, I'm breaking down and praying that all my memories aren't lost forever on my hard drive.
