2nd week of the academic war

Approaching the final weeks of exams... everyone seems stressed and a bit uptight about things. Time seems to be running out faster on double time. *stress*

And guess what? I just woke up from my nap. One which I was supposed to be up an hour ago at 1800 hours. Sighz. I must be really tired. Bad thing is, I need to study. Have not finished studying.

Gonna be up the whole night. 3rd battle in 5 hours, 26 minutes and decreasing.

Getting panicky. Stomach feels strangely like butterflies. Then again, ever since exams started last week it has been this way. Rumbling and cramping. Don't know what's wrong, but something is very wrong with the tummy. Stress-related? Perhaps. Maybe. Possibly. Fingers are affected as well. Of course, if it's stress-related - looks like the only cure is have the exams finished and done with and a thing of the past.... at least until January next year. =D

Summer placements are still giving me a headache. Need to come up with a CV, but I'm no good at it. Any tips anyone? Atkins engineering (UK) is looking for students with a 2.1 or a 1 degree which I qualify. But taking it up, would mean spending 8-10 weeks of my summer here in the UK rather than at home where its sunny and bright. On one hand, I need a summer placement to boost my future CV up. And perhaps, taste what's life like as an engineer. On the other hand, I am sick of the UK already. Wanna go home and just be a couch potato. Decisions decisions decisions. Especially life changing ones. However do you decide?

Beginning of the academic war

Believe it or not, I'm down to my last 22 hours and 26 minutes.

*stress* *panicking a lil*

Where has all the time gone?

5 battles in counting

As we worship You
- Don Moen, from the album I Will Sing -

As we worship you
Let all the world come and see
How the mercy we've recieved from You
Can set them free
As we worship You
Let all this joy that fills our hearts
Bring a hunger and a hope
To those who've strayed so far

As we bow in adoration
And stand in reverent awe
Show Your majesty and glory
Let Your anointing fall
As we declare Your name Lord Jesus
As the only name who saves
May the power of Your salvation
Fill each heart we pray

As we worship You
Let all the nations hear our song
The song of Jesus and His blood
That proved His love for all
As we worship You
May all the lost and broken come
May they hear Your still small voice
Call out their names each one

And here's something I did for two of my friends who got baptised yesterday here in Liverpool.
Have been sharing it with other people as well. So I'm putting this here.

Comfort and security in one simple action

I know what I miss doing these days.... hugs.

From friends who care.

I can no longer recall getting any hugs from my close (gal)friends for a long while now. *although I just requested one from Sharon this morning* And I love hugs.

Somehow, the simple action itself gives me some measure of comfort, security and some sense of belonging. Makes me feel wanted, needed, and loved. Having none these days, makes me feel even more lost.

I miss hugging my family. I miss hugging my friends. =(

If only I can feel God's arms around me each day - maybe.... this pain will go away.

PS: Sorry I have not been updating here very often. *been updating my other journal though* These past few weeks have been really tough for me, emotionally. Been struggling a lot with rollercoaster emotions. Still feeling the pain of 'lost' friendship. Still grieving in some ways.

Fire drills are so annoying

URRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH. The fire alarm went off. AGAIN. Last night was really frustrating - Was writing the weekly SF emails, and TWO times my PC crashed in the middle of it, and I didn't even save the draft. The second time it crashed I was halfway finished. And after I've finished, I tried sending the email off to my fellow friends. Normally sending 3 emails with multiple recipients would be just nicely under the limits of sending maximum messages in a day. YESTERDAY, the 3rd email wouldn't send! And worse, the emails kept giving me some error.

Didn't even get to sleep till 3.30am this morning. And my room was in utter darkness. Felt a bit scared actually , coz I normally have the lights above my sink switched on. But the light's faulty and flickering. Thinking I would have about 4 1/2 hours of sleep till 8.00 am, I rolled about and finally dozed off.

Oh well, and what should happen this morning? At 07.15am, the fire alarm went off. Was too drowsy to put on my jeans, and my table was left in a mess from last night. Tried searching for keys. Where are they? Ah... below the external hard drive, amidst the clump of entangled wires. And scurried off downstairs, only to realise it was a FIRE DRILL!!!! ARRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. And to top it off, my legs were freezing!

Would love to go back to sleep now. But I have class at 10.00am. SHEEESH. Would have skipped today's class IF I hadn't skipped last week's. Besides I have to do some more lab work today as well, like it or not. Anyway, aside from the fact that I have to get into class soon; I had such a good and effective wake up morning call that I didn't need a second one. Amazing huh? *rolls eyes* (If the fire alarm didn't do the trick, the freezing wind sure did!)

On a side note, I'm BACK I guess. I'm still alive too. I have not been blogging much lately. Perhaps been feeling a bit of a writer's block. Just wasn't bothered to blog much. So many things happened, I'm just feeling slightly overwhelmed. But I'm well I guess. Mmmm.... Not really really. I meant I'm keeping well. Oh it's gonna be a busy busy busy term ahead. Lovely!
