I've been just sitting here at work for almost 45 minutes waiting for my bosses to return from lunch and I've been wanting to update for about 9 weeks, so it seems like now's a pretty good time to do so.

A lot has happened since I got back to school for the spring semester, but I won't go into that, instead I'll make a list...

1. My dad got a job!  Heck yes for that!  As far as I know, my dad's excited about this new job and my mom is surely happy that we don't have to pinch pennies as much any more.  I guess he'll be selling something, which could be pretty fun for him.  I hope that everything works out and he enjoys this new career.

2. While writing a paper for European Government and Politics, I learned this interesting fact:  Tony Blair, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, grew up in Adelaide, Australia.  The same Adelaide that Ben Folds' wife still lives in.  The same Adelaide that Ben Folds wrote a pretty rockin' song about.  Wouldn't it be cool if they knew each other when they were younger?

3. Alright.  As it turns out (I just looked it up) Adelaide is the fifth largest city in all of Australia with a population of over 1.1 million.  They probably didn't know each other.

4. I <3 Wikipedia.  In fact I just used it to find out the population on Adelaide.  You can find anything on that website.  Yesterday I used it to find out some pretty weird info about the UK.  I'm pretty sure I would have had to search a while to find that stuff without Wikipedia.  I know that anyone can change the information on the site, so it can be less than reliable.  However, I haven't had any problems yet.  And really, who is going to mess with the population of Adelaide?

5. Did you know that the US Postal Service guidelines indicate that if you live on a road such as "Valley Loaf" you should abbreviate it, "Valley LF".  Have you ever heard of someone living on a Loaf?  Kind of silly if you ask me.  And you know what else?  If you live on "Valley Orchard" it would be abbreviated "Valley ORCH,"  so why do you need to abbreviate Loaf at all?

Alright, some of the ladies are back.  Time to get to work.  Hope you're all doing well!

You scored as Roman Catholic. You are Roman Catholic. Church tradition and ecclesial authority are hugely important, and the most important part of worship for you is mass. As the Mother of God, Mary is important in your theology, and as the communion of saints includes the living and the dead, you can also ask the saints to intercede for you.

Interesting, very interesting...  I seem to not be able to make up my mind; the scores for the top 4 options are pretty close.

What is your Perfect Major?

I admit it; I took the quiz three times.  I wish that I had just saved the answers from the first one though.  I guess this is kind of true, if you take Engineering out it could work.

Though endings are never ever happy
It's the happy moments along the way
That in the end
Make it...ok...

            - Five for Fighting

I wanted to make this quote my away message, but I wanted a chance to explain myself rather than just put it out there.  And for that reason, it has become an entry.

I don’t want you all to think that I am depressed about going back to school, because I’m not.  I’m far from depressed.  There are so many amazing things about school, so many ways that home will never measure up.  I can’t wait for the Friday/ Saturday night Dunkin Donut runs, the trips to Weis for fruit and break, dinners, Gilmore Girls, the Daily Show every night, WICKED!, and everything else.  But all of this doesn’t stop me from getting anxious about the changes that will have to happen, as well as all the unknown that lies ahead.  Arts Alive!: Can we handle it?  Study Abroad: Can I pull it together in one semester?  Classes:  I know I’m only signed up for 3 classes, but I’m quite sure these classes will be able to pack the punch.

This break was pretty amazing.  We did fun things, and I made a crap load of money.  We learned that Kari and I are not too good at staying awake for movies that start after midnight (except if they involve several funny little kids who want to win the spelling bee).  We found out that fondue is quite tasty.  I ordered (well almost) an mp3 player, my first big purchase ever.  And so much more.  I’m sad to see it all go.  But like the quote says, it’s the happy times along the way that make it ok.

And in the moments when I’m honest with myself, I know it has to end.  I can’t get up everyday and watch ER at 11:00.  I can’t spend all my days lying around the house.  In fact, it is getting kind of boring.  I’ve kept this schedule less than a week and already I’m ready for something else.  Whether I’m ready or not, that change is going to be school in two days.

So let’s go!  Let’s make Spring ’06 the best yet!

Safe travels everyone and good luck!
