| I'm a proud papaThis is also posted on baby_ammons ... Yesterday, we had the big ultrasound. So with the in-laws in tow, Alana, baby and I went into the ultra quiet, ultra cool, ultrasound room. There we entered the wonderful world of the womb. It was quite an amazing journey. Right off the bat, the friendly but camera shy technichan asked if we wanted to know the sex of our little lovebug. OF COURSE! Mama's gotta know what color to tell Daddy to paint its walls. But more about that later. So back to the wonderful world of the womb. First question: is there really just one (my paranoia was setting in). The singularness of my child was confirmed when we saw it dart across the screen. Seeing how much it moves make me wonder how many sleepless nights may be in our future. And this kid has quite the personality, too. At one point, between games of peekaboo, put its left hand up over its little face pointing with one finger and the thumb up. Kinda like a gun. We pictured our kid saying "alright daddy-o!" We already have a cool baby. Later, our child was playing peekaboo (again) and the kid stretched out its right leg, left arm, and kinda curled up with its head on its left shoulder. Funny kid. So some measurements were done, all the body parts are there: stomach: check, brain: check, heart: check, kidney 1: check, kidney 2: check, boy parts: check, check. Yup, it's a boy. Our little Jayden was none too shy about showing off his boyish goods to his family and new friend Jackie, the ultrasound tech. Three times we saw the package. We are certain of his maleness. In the end, Jackie worked up the numbers and determined he weighs 1 pound, 2 ounces - making him a little big for his age. No suprise given how tall his daddy is. But Alana's due date won't change, we just might get him a little before Valentine's day. That's fine with us. We're ready for our son, Jayden David Ammons. |
