High ho, high ho...

... I'm going to sue my title company.

Sigh. Why people can't do the jobs they're paid for is beyond me....

You simply don't have the right attitude.  The other day, I found myself in conversation at the gas pump with a retired guy who had worked at a Chrysler assembly plant.  The topic of "people not doing their jobs" came up (mistake #1), whereupon I began to complain about an employee who could not appear to do the simplest of tasks, who wanted control without accountability, and generally should be let go.  His response was that "you need to work with her, and find things for her to do that she can do."  He saw absolutely no problem with the fact that she couldn't do the tasks that she swore she could do at the time of her employment interview.  In fact, he seemed a bit annoyed that I would expect that of her.  Now, what was I thinking, anyway?
