| Art is objective and is a creative process. It can operate into many proper functions. Some of these functions include teaching or uplifting the mind, to express emotion and to praise a spiritual power. “Beauty is Truth and Truth is Beauty” simply means your perception of the art is your truth, this concept is object. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one may consider art does not necessarily hold accurate to someone else. Other artists who try to replicate an art are said to be synthesizing an idea/thing that already exists and translating it into a new and different concept and form.
The Golden Mean is used in art because it is aesthetically pleasing to most. For example Ancient Egyptians used the golden ratio is a majority of their artwork, including structures, the pyramids and hieroglyphics. They used it in their art because it contained a heightened sensitivity to beauty.
