I never thought I would compromise

i got this message while i was away at state -

"My names Mike McManus and I am the midwest editor for the GenQ section of the Advocate magazine(nations leading gay and lesbian news magazine). I was recently asked to write a story on gay and lesbian teens growing up in Topeka, mainly to see how they react and feel about Fred Phelps (www.godhatesfags.com). Anyways just seeing if you experienced his hatred first hand, or know of anyone who has. If you do let me know, need to find students to interview. thanks

Mike McManus "

Let's unite tonight
We shouldn't fight
Embrace you tight
Let's unite tonight

anyone? send whatever if you want to contact this guy, i'll tell you his myspace deal etc. and you can share your story.

You gardener
You discipliner
Domestically
I can obey all of your rules
And still be, be

don't be shy, dare to change the universe - or at least talk about it

I thrive best hermit style
With a beard and a pipe
And a parrot on each side
But now I can't do this without you

parents didn't trust my driving uninsured cars in surmounting snow.  mom drove me home from school today, at which point we got to have a lil chat. -

(dan fiddles with windows, letting feathery white clumps of winter inside the vehicle while waiting for the 1984 ford ranger to kindly remove itself from our path)
mom
:  dan,  keep stirr.  rememberr when yuu were rittle, yuu arways sed patience is a vaachaa.
dan:  patience is a vulture.
mom:  no!  vaachaaaa!
dan:  patience is a voucher?
mom:  dan!  you know what i mean!
dan:  relax mom. patience is a virtue.

Soul Meets Body

thanksgiving's over, and december's just a turn of the calendar away.  - and yeah, you can call me captain obvious.

I want to live where soul meets body

youth council's deliberating over which 6 bands will be playing for our annual battle of the bands, december 30th.  all of you were pretty  sweet.  we'll announce the 6 bands on thursday, december 1st.  i'll keep you posted.

in my head there's a Greyhound station
where I set my thoughts to far off destinations
so they may have a chance of finding a place
where they're far more suited than here

in other news - district orch is this saturday.  sat II's are this saturday.  life goes on this saturday, and i'll be playing my old fiddle with the best of the northeast kansas.  so much for impressing colleges with my sordid scores on standardized tests; i love to play too much.  (grins and shrugs)

I cannot guess
what we'll discover
when we turn the dirt
with our palms cupped like shovels
but I know our filthy hands
can wash one another's
and not one speck will remain

real quick, i want to say thanks to megan T-Sai for the recommendation to pandora.com.  it's freakin awesome.  for those that don't know - this site takes songs/artists that you know you like, and based off that generates new suggestions for songs and bands to listen to that you might not have heard of just yet.

I do believe it's true
that there are roads left in both of our shoes
but if the silence takes you
then I hope it takes me too
so brown eyes I'll hold you near
cuz you're the only song I want to hear
a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
where soul meets body

just finished watching the finale to the biggest loser with my bro -  the two hour finale to the biggest loser.  these guys freakin lost half their weight.  how many people can say they did that?  (of course, you'd prolly have to have twice the recommended body mass first, or i guess you could just lose half your body in a freak accident..?)

a melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

oh, and senior pics are in - who wants one?

-piece out

question of the day - so who wants to be the 'biggest loser'?

guess i missed my early admissions deadline.  oops.  oh, and district auditions are tomorrow.  wish me luck.  c'mon dude.  please?

This one's optimistic
This one went to market
This one just came out of the swamp
This one dropped a payload
Fodder for the animals
Living on an animal farm

figured out the one and only reason i may ever take another picture again.  i take enough pictures and enough of my soul is captured and sealed away by soul sucking devices also known as cameras, i should become a zombie...  right?

You can try the best you can
If you try the best you can
The best you can is good enough

-piece out

question of the day:  who wants to be a zombie with me?
