  • had my 3rd ultrasound today.  she's measuring perfectly on schedule, and she's in the 53rd percentile in size... not too big, not too small.  and now i know exactly how she's positioned in there, which has alleviated a LOT of curiosity - every time she moved, i wondered what it was, or when i palpated my belly, i wondered if i was feeling a head or a butt or an elbow or a foot.  but now i have a better idea.  she's head down now, which has also allowed me to sigh with relief.  no breech baby to worry about.

    11 weeks to go!

  • i have become an eating machine.  it's quite scary, actually.  up to this point, i had not really been eating large amounts of food because it would make me physically uncomfortable, as everything got crowded in my abdomen... but i guess i must have adapted or something, because now the gloves are off and if you serve me a full plate, i will eat a full plate.  and more.

and the numbers on my scale keep creeping up and up and up... well, it's inevitable.

  • espy's

dan recorded the espy's this year because justin timberlake hosted them... i'd never watched them before, but figured i'd give it a shot.  i have to say, it was a hilarious show.  granted, i didn't understand about half of the jokes because i didn't know who a lot of the athlete's were - but dan "translated" all the inside jokes for me.  justin timberlake really brought the house down... so if you see it on rerun on espn, it really is worth watching.  probably better than the oscars or golden globes ever will be.

  • dan and i bought some shelves from ikea for our kitchen - it's amazing how much storage they provide!!  i really wish we had gotten them sooner.  anyways, it was a headache to mount them to the wall because they were really heavy, so we had to drive them into the studs...

do you love the new wall color of our kitchen?  i love it.

we also painted bella's nursery a nice rosy beige.  it's very soothing... we barely waited for the paint to dry before putting the crib together.  now it really looks like a baby's room.

and lastly, i figured i'd put all those art and painting classes, growing up, to some good use, so i painted a mural on the wall in bella's room.  it's not finished, but here's the rough first coat.

i have to say, it turned out better than i thought it would.

  • pediatrician

so, i'm looking for a good pediatrician... but because i'll probably have to change my insurance to dan's insurance after the baby is born, i have to look outside of my current hospital system.  right now i'm at lutheran general, but they don't accept dan's insurance plan (BCBS Blue Advantage HMO).

i think i'll probably change over to the northwest community hospital system, so i'm looking for a pediatrician affiliated with that hospital.  anyone have any references or suggestions?
