it really gets to me when you're on the train, bus, or some public place that is enclosed in a relatively small space from which you have no escape and people are talking on their cell phones as if they're sitting at home in their living room!  i know cell phones are meant to be used for phone calls, but is it really necessary to have 45 minute conversations about absolutely nothing significant and loud enough for every person in the vehicle to hear?  where has respect for other people gone?  there is no need to impose on a person's right to a quiet environment just b/c you're bored or trying to waste time!  read a book, take a nap! 

i went to the IB floor today and saw something that amused me...an entire row of cubes filled with asian males wall-to-wall....it wasn't that surprising, but for a moment i felt like i was in an asian firm.
