| A New Chapter Begins...
A new chapter in my life begins tomorrow...I become a full time student once again. It's been five years since going to class, taking exams, staying up late to study...definitely a different pace in life. Stay tuned to find out how school is treating this "new" college girl...

| The scariest time of my life...
Memorial Day weekend was a blast! I went to my church's annual family retreat out in the woods. I really enjoy these retreats because it gives me the opportunity to hang out and have in-depth conversations with people I normally wouldn't be able to do...time is just so limited on Sundays at church. There are so many cute little kids to watch, play with and laugh at. The campfires and community building activities are always a lot of fun and full of laughs, but I'd have to say the most memorable activity we did this year was the course challenge.
The course challenge is a team building program low and high element challenges. The low elements involved some fun activities that required working at a team. In the afternoon, we moved on to the high element challenges, which made us really push our limits level of comfortability. We did two challenges. The first was called The Perch (for a description and drawing of challenge, see Pat's entry). That basically involved climbing a ladder, then a pole with staples. We had to stand at the top and jump off and hit a tether ball hanging from a wire. That one actually turned out to be pretty fun. I got to say that I'm proud of Pat for doing it because of his extreme fear of heights.
The second challenge involved 3 parts: walking up a fallen log, balancing on a tightrope, and to finish it off, swinging from a tree 40 feet in the air! At first I thought it would be a lot of fun. A lot of the guys didn't want to do it, but I was psyched to do the challenge. Boy was I in for a surprise! When I got to the top of the platform to swing down, all I could think of was, "What the heck did i get myself into?!?" It was too late, I couldn't go back...I had to jump, but I was so scared I almost peed in my pants. I finally slid off the platform...that initial free-falling feeling was probably the scariest thing in my life! After that part, swinging in the air was fun. Will I ever do it again? I have the opportunity to go again at the end of the summer...we'll see.
I would include a picture of the course, but I can't match up to Pat's drawing skills. Maybe I'll have him draw it for me.

| Lots of Decisions, Lots of Changes...
After 5+ years of working in youth ministries at Cameron House, I've decided to leave my job and pursue a different career. (September 2007)
5 years after undergrad and not being in school, I've decided to go back to school. (August 2007)
After many months of going back and forth between a graduate program in physical therapy or occupational therapy, I've decided to go for OT. (Fall 2008...but who knows where?)
After a year and a half of being independent and living in my own beautiful apartment in the Marina/Cow Hollow District, I've decided to move back home. (No job and new school expenses all of a sudden makes moving back home seem very practical.) May 2007...yes, the end of this month.
Many thoughts and feelings are running through my mind: hectic, busy, overwhelming, scary, endless unknowns; yet it's also exciting to do something different, and I trust God will lead me. Besides, I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead! (I say this now, but check in with me in the next 6 months...)

| I Met Baron Davis!
Well, at least I did in my dreams...haha! There's all this talk about people jumping on the Warrior fan bandwagon and catching Warriors Fever. I must have caught it too, because the other night I dreamt that I met Baron Davis! Not only that, but he somehow heard about Cameron House and wanted to apply for one of our summer program staff positions! Wow, think about what it would be like to have Baron Davis working at Cameron House! We'd have the best basketball teams in the youth leagues we play in! (And maybe I'd even be inspired enough to play basketball myself.)
