  • I've finally got cable. It makes me oh so happy. Especially all the free on demand stuff. It's pretty sweet.

I hate furniture sales people. I'm not a big fan of most sales people, but the furniture ones are ho I've been dealing with lately and I hate it. Why can't they just say hello, introduce themselves, and leave me be to shop?! I don' need someone o follow me around asking questions when I'm perfectly capable of finding what I need. If I need help, I know how to ask for it. I can even walk around to find someone to help me.

Work still rocks. Terrence is still awesome-rific. Carmel is still the 'burbs. Life is good.

  • Work pretty much rocks. 'Nuff said.

I love hearing awesome music on So You Think You Can Dance. It's how I found one of my favorite Annie Lennox songs. It's how I hear about new bands sometimes. It's how I found out Jason Mraz has a new album out. It's a pretty awesome album from what I can tell. Check out his YouTube for a video of "I'm Yours". It's such a cool tune. http://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialJasonMraz

    But I won't hesitate
    No more, no more
    It cannot wait
    I'm sure
    There's no need to complicate
    Our time is short
    This is our fate
    I'm yours

  • Quick couple of notes before I go to sleep -

Know how many emails I had in my Inbox a work today? Mind you, it was my first day. 700. Yes, 700 unread emails. Wowza.

My office was used as a server room for a while. That means it has it's own beefy AC unit. But the control box is locked and they need to find out who has the key. Right now it's blowing air as if servers were in there. Which means I have a lovely approx. 65 degree office. The sweater and gloves come with me tomorrow.

Overall  had a good first day.

  • I like my apartment. It's nice and spacious. Has plenty of wall outlets. And a pretty nice gym I never use. At least in the summer. I'd much rather be outside. And while Meijer tends to be more expensive than other grocery stores. It's just across the street. And as long as one avoids rush hour and it's still light out, one can easily walk there. I even have a pretty sweet reusable grocery bag to pick up little things I may need.

My big realization of today: The nearest major retail center is a less than 4 mile bike ride from my apartment. Stores like NY and Co, Best Buy, Old Navy, Claire's, Bath and Body Works. Food like Jimmy John's, Qdoba, Cold Stone, Starbucks, a gelato place, and a Panera-like bakery. And the bike trail goes right to the mall. And Carmel is super bike-friendly so drivers actually know how to handle bikers on the road. Cause it happens all the time.

I rode more than halfway to the mall today. I wanted to go the whole way, but I had come to my realization after I already biked around the neghborhood so I was a smidge on the tired side. But I"m excited for the lovely gas-free shopping I will be able to do. There's even a Dick's Sporting Goods, and a couple cycle shops along the trail so I can get some more gear to bike in. Hooray for today!

  • Some random new digs thoughts:
    • I'm such a little southern kid in the summer. I don't turn on the A/C unless its 90+ weather and I'll stumble around confusedly for a full 10 minutes before I realize the sun has gone down and that's why it got so dark all the sudden.
    • I'm glad Bryan lives across the hall. It's nice to have a friendly face pop up on occasion.
    • It's so quiet here. I can't wait to get a little more situated so I can have a guest or two for a couple hours. It'll be nice.
    • My summer shirts are in the process of being organized according to the light scale. It already looks pretty neat. I've said "Roy Gee Biv" a lot today.
    • I think people in Carmel drive like lunatics in parking lots. On streets, they're more than fine. But once they get close to a store, watch out.
    • Once inside the store, Carmel shoppers are pretty friendly and nice. A welcome change from the Haute.
    • I think there is another Starbucks as soon as you forgot exactly how long ago you saw a Starbucks. They are freaking everywhere.
    • I saw a guy walking a rat yesterday. I'm sure if you kenneled it, they'd say it was a dog, but I have serious doubts.
    • I went to Best Buy today. . Just going inside makes me such a happy camper.

  • Some people make me angry. They are full of poopyness. And yes that is a technical term. They go around spouting boys are better than girls and other dumb stuff They act like they know things. When in reality, they live in an all white, Republican, go-to-the-same-church, never-experience-anything-remotely-different world. Those people make me sad. They don't see all that God has made. They don't see the beauty in people around them. All they see is something different from what they're used to and freak out. Hopefully heaven won't shock them too deeply. I'm sure it will be completely different from what they expect.

  • I am a college graduate. I am an engineer. I have a Bachelor's of Science.
    Weird.

In other news, moving is exhausting and I'm not a fan. At least after this month I won't have to move again for at least a year. Yay.

  • Sign that there is something, maybe inherently, wrong with iTunes: it classifies Kenny G as "Jazz". Straight up. No qualifiers. No 'smooth'. No 'nondescript'. No 'fuzzy perm'. Gross.

  • I have finished my last show as an undergrad at Rose. Bittersweet. And it's always a little weird to tear down the set after putting so much work into it. But it also feels rewarding. I'll be back for 24-hour play festival and to cheer on my favorite kids who are still going to be here. It feels really weird to realize that I'm leaving in a couple weeks. It will be really interesting to adjust to. Hanging out with the cast this weekend was absolutely amazing. Me and Natalie, Brittany, Megan and Greg had an awesome time. They are definitely some of my faves.

Pandora shocks me with great music sometimes. Love it.

  • Spring is finally, well, springing. Yay!

That means summer is rapidly approaching. Which means I graduate soon. And move into my sweet new digs in Carmel (A suburb of Indy). And do the whole become-a-resident-of-Indiana thing. Just don't call me a Hoosier. I will never be a Hoosier. And start working. And begin going to wedding after wedding. That's a pretty busy summer.

School is going well. Classes are doing just fine. I have one class that is pretty interesting and has a tendency to distract me from other work, but so far, I've been able to handle putting it down when necessary. The play opens in a little over a week. It's shaping up ok. Still have quite a bit of work on the set to do, so that's where a lot of my focus is going.

Pandora internet radio pretty much rocks. Peace out.
