so, how's your bracket so far? on the espn leaderboard, all the best brackets have two mistakes--30 out of 2 million! wow. i'm kicking myself on a couple of my picks. i had this inkling that Clemson wouldn't beat Villanova. Clemson played tremendously in the ACC tourney, but i had a feeling they peaked. plus, villanova is a good team and had something to prove.

everyone in our family filled out a bracket, including 3-year old HH. i'll have to put up the pics-pretty cute. our best ones are 260, compared to the 300 leaders. not bad.

AND what happened in Tampa??? that Drake/W. Kentucky was an amazing finish. now, THAT'S the Madness we expect in March.

Thank God for Gerald Henderson.

my lamentation:
what is going on with my Dukies? They are a different team now. Something has happened to them. they aren't playing the same basketball as the first two-thirds of the season. where's the aggressiveness? the swarming defense? the tenacity? the confidence? it's slipped away. we'll see how they play against west virginia today. i want them to win, but will not be surprised if they do not. the first four minutes of each half will determine the outcome.

contractions are starting to pick up in intensity and frequency. the doc checked me last tuesday and i'm dilated 2 cm. first baby--not much concern. the fourth one is a different story. hoping the baby will wait until after sunday school tomorrow, so i can finish the 8-week class i'm teaching. would like to finish and an easter baby would be nice.

we looked through names last night. again. we think we've found her name. we'll let you know after the birth.

WHAT is UP with this SNOW STORM at the END of MARCH??!!!!

UPDATE: Duke lost. not really surprising. they went MIA in the 2d half and WV outplayed them.
so, now Duke fans will have to endure 7-8 months of an anti-Duke media bashing the program and taking shots at Coach K, their lack of "talent," the current state of Duke basketball, ad nauseam. it's a tough road when you have such a successful basketball program.

btw-who do you think is the most annoying college basketball analyst?
my vote goes to doug gottlieb.

I was only wrong on Georgia, Clemson, UConn (although I should have known better) and Kent State.  I didn't get to see any of the amazing games yesterday because I was still at work, so I'm hoping there's good stuff this weekend.

lol. i'm totally not keeping track... ignorance is bliss in this one instance.

in other news: shane claiborne wrote "Irresistible Revolution" calling americans to individually and corporately live out the message of Jesus through acts of service instead of just lip-service and monetarily contributions. it was really challenging. his methodology should be taken with a grain of salt considering each individual's current context, but altogether very inspirational. He more recently wrote "Jesus for President" which I believe Brian was referring. I have not read it, but imagine it to be along the same lines of certain off-shoots from IR. he basically argues against military action period on the basis that Christians should never condone or promote violence. it's a little more extreme than i feel comfortable with, but he has some good points about supporting and respecting government but not rolling over and permitting everything.

ryc: i think claiborne does a good job of being wholehearted on the issues like opposing ALL war, looking out for the innocent, orphans, widows, neglected, forgotten in our community. honestly, i think that his focus on ministering to the homeless informs his other beliefs about this stuff. the guy left college to live among the homeless as a homeless person. he puts his feet and money where his mouth spouts off. i can't comment on Jesus for President, but i do know that IR was done well and with a sound Biblical and practical basis in mind. i highly recommend it.

Yes, thank God for Gerald Henderson. And I like Doug Gottlieb. Didn't he steal laptops or credit cards or something and now he's an analyst for ESPN? Sweet deal.
I'm starting to hate Digger Phelps. Stop with the highlighters already.
