It's nice to hear real instruments behind Madonna other then the strings and guitars that have been making frequent appearances in her last 4 records.
We haven't heard horns since Express Yourself.
The percussion and beat are refreshing in their "rawness" compared to the electronic processing of COADF and AL.
I'm just beginning to warm up to this new song from the queen.
For those of you who aren't sure just yet, you know you're happy about it in the least. This records isn't made for her hardcore legion, she knows we aren't going anywhere.
This single is for the kids. The ones who read English Roses a few years back. They are tweenagers hungry to eat this up, it is to them an ultimate reinvention. She's someone they can look up too now cause she's up there with JT dancing seemingly defying time like she's 25. It's like she lives forever, and that is every kids dream.

| I Love My Flip Video Camera Well
my first love has always been video. Hence, I shoot music videos. But,
in the last few years I’ve taken up writing and photography to amuse me
in my leisure time. That is, until I got my Flip Ultra Video Camera.
This
thing is amazing. Technology just gets more and more streamlined. Sure
the picture quality is nothing to balk at, but this thing can be
whipped out in a jiffy, and if you drop it don’t sweat it. The cost is
only bout 120 bucks for a camera that can shoot one hour of video and
load directly onto Youtube. Compare that to the $3,000 I invested in my
Pro-sumer Camera I invested in a few years back.
That camera
required a hard-case, a XLR microphone, large heavy rechargeable
batteries and dv tapes. It was so cumbersome I seldom used it other
then on professional jobs. The Flip on the other hand can be whipped
out in a jiffy, a valuable tool for you broadcast journalists out there.
What
I like so much about the camera besides its ease of use and price is it
strips away all the fancy bells and whistles people desire when buying
their electronics, only to find there new gizmo collecting dust on a
shelf. Sure I’d be happier if I could manually adjust the light and
audio levels, but I’m not complaining. For the most part Pure Digital
got it right. Less is more.
That said, with a video camera so
simple and other technological tools at our disposal, what you create
with your resources still remains up to the hands of the artist. No
gizmo will do that for you, but I get the feeling that’s what most
people hoping for. Nope, it’s never gonna happen, the work is still up
to you. The technology just makes it easier.
Upon purchase of my new Flip Video, it was ritually christened with the mandatory embarrassing dance caught on video.
