| school's starting in about a week. thus ending my glorious summer in san diego. for the past couple of weeks i've jsut been surfing and working, working alot actually, trying to make as much money as possible for the rest of the schoosl year to have to spend. financial aide didn't pull through again, and i'll be taking out more loans for school. it's kind of frustrating to have a dad who works for the government therefore his income is known to all, especially financial aide, therefore they assume we have adequate funds when we clearly don't. while other families who are clearly better off than us can still acquire a larger sum of financial aide. but then again i should be thankful for my dad having a job in the first place. just frustrated that my parents have to take out more loans this year to fund my way through college so i can be their golden boy and give them something to be proud about after immigrating to the united states to escape a life of oppression. just makes you want to try harder i guess, i'm not going to let them down anymore. this schoolyear will be different.
in other news tomorrow will be my birthday, hitting the big 1-9. nineteen, that's pretty old. can't you just hear the evening news? "today, a nineteen year old robbed a convenience store, leaving three dead, and raping several others"....it can happen. nineteen is old. you have responsibilities at nineteen. tomorrow is also my last day at leucadia, it can't help but feel sad. it helped me out financially so much this summer, people tip pretty well in la jolla, and i got to drive their cars which was always fun because u can give a rat's ass about someone elses' car and drive like a maniac. karen bought me a springsuit for my birthday, i really appreciated it. i felt bad cuz it was so expensive too, but it's really nice. thanks karen. i could always depend on her to cheer me up around my birthday. did you ever think about what a birthday is? a birthday is a day where people celebrate your birth 'x' number of years ago, it'd be sad if noone celebrated it. transitively speaking, if noone cared, noone's glad that you were born. pretty gruesome if you think about it. the waves are getting bigger, and the water is getting colder, fall's coming, school begins on the first day of fall actually. i'll be coming back friday morning. finally spending time with my family and friends back in long beach.

| best summer everi spent this summer in san diego because i wanted to be indepenedent. and it was the best decision i've made thus far. i got a job at tapioca express serving boba and cleaning. it is the most relaxing job i've ever had, when customers aren't in, we spend the day lounging on the couches playing scrabble and various other board games. learning new drinks, and making new friends from having such cool co-workers and managers and cuties at that. im so sad they're all leaving. about 3 weeks after i got a job at leucadia pizzeria because i wasn't getting enough money at tapioca express. it's a very stressful job, customers are mean and the manager is kinda aggressive, and it's hard to speak your mind about things but i need the money. i lost about 7 lbs this summer, running twice a week in the mornings 2 hours of strenuous conditioning asnd surfing about 4-5 times a week during the evensings. the most active summer of my life. oh yeas, i got summer school out of the way, and got hum. 3,45 out of the way too. thank goodness for jacqueline vu to help me. what else? i loved my roommates for the summer, we played smash bros jsut about every night, watching movies on our projector, going swimming, and last bsut not least the parties, whenever we had one. school's starting in a couple of weeks i hafta quit a job i think. as cool as everyone is at leucadia, i jsut dont feel right therer i guess. oh yea im planning on buying a car when i come back to lb the weekend of the 15th, and to catch up with my old friends, see u guys soon.

it is i, nhan. one day i decided to read my old blogs, and decided it was interesting to read about my life. so i m going back to this cuz it's fun. let's recap college. it's hard. moving on badminton @ ucsd is the best. i wish i was an naacp athlete, cuz i would have priority with classes and alex would respect me more, but it's ok. the team is fantastic, i thought it was hard leaving poly, but im satisfied. dorming is the best, no bedtimes, no parental nagging, t3 connection, ie (unlimited downloads, if u play your cards right). class is hard, classes are REALLY HARD, like if i put this much time and effort @ poly i would've been valedictorian, or at least as smart as one of the pace kids. one of the lesser ones....maybe grace. the beaches here are gorgeous. how can you be here and not get in the water? it seriously is gorgeous, the weather is never above 85 degrees, the beach keeps it nice and cool. i've made alot of new friends since i came here, everybody is relatively friendly. you're never really bored here, there's always something to do, pool, badminton, working out, badminton...school when i have time. what's new, what's new...not much. i just really like it down here which explains why i'm taking city college summer courses here isntead of back @ home. i do miss everybody though, and it's so sad when i see em for a lil bit and hafta leave again. i'll be either working as a shuttle driver, a boba dude, or a badminton stockboy. i think it'll be the latter. summer school is a bitch already, 3 hours a day? so shitty. i miss everyone that was @ ucsd and went home. the last day was so sad, especially since greg left early and i had to sleep by myself so scary. mkay bye. | | |
| well i haven't blogged here in a while, maybe too long. to recap the past couple of months, after i graduated. i just started working on my car's body. pulling out dents, and fillin em in with bondo. after a lotta work and a lotta money, i got my car painted. i just got it back a couple of days ago, it looks like a whole new car. in other news komar and theo just got married, and i attended their wedding, it was a blast, i learned alotta new cambodian dances. you know, i dont even know when is school going to start for me, but i know it's going to start real soon for calstate people, and even sooner for lbcc people. well noone knows, but i got into a car accident with my cousin's car, he had bald tires, and they just gave out on the freeway, we slid and hit the guardrail pretty damn hard. luckily noone was hurt nor involved. unluckily it wasn't my cousin's car, but his stepdad's, now im totally broke and on lockdown for the rest of summer. i apologize to all my friends for not being there during the good times they had, and just not being there for them at all. im sorry ronny i couldn't come to ur bday party. im sorry to hear that alex. im happy to hear u have a nephew dennis. im still looking for a summer job to make enough money to pay back for the damages for my uncle...i guess i didn't wanna tell nebody outta embarrassment but whatever, it was my fault. i was tired of xanga for the longest now, noone reads my shit but me, and i only read my friend's blogs neway, mostly alex cuz he has the most interesting. i feel bad for leaving u guyz for san diego, but i'll be back. sooner or later. i hope im not stealing alex's thunder, but he helped me conclude this'll be my last blog also. time to grow up. pece outside. | | |
