There is a constant battle that wages between good and evil. We were born into this war, but this wasn’t always the case. When God established creation a simple phrase that haunts the pages of time was birthed; “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31)
Can you understand the repercussions of these words? When God created the universe, it was created for good, not evil. In fact, God said that the masterpiece He designed was VERY good. Even though we were created to know what “good” is, we have fallen far from the way things were supposed to be. The Bible teaches us that the choice to distinguish between good and evil is something we have to acquire. “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish between good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:14) We have to train ourselves to determine the difference because we have become so desensitized to the evil around us.
It is time for us to grow up and embrace the good we were created for.
