| New York, New York.Hello World.
It has been a while since we met, my apologies. I remembered out of the blue today that I have a xanga account, and there are stalkers out there who have been deprived of Shreyaness for an era, so here goes, let the rambling begin.
Right now I'm sitting in a window right on Wall St., high up on the 21st floor. It's a pretty surreal scene, with the Trump Building directly across, and about 3 of the city's best landmarks within half a mile. And then I gleefully peep into the windows across to see people in business suits typing away on their laptops in conference rooms at 9pm. And snigger at them not being able to listen to Mr.West- Stronger in their pajamas and people-watch minus the binoculors. Mwaha, that pleasure shall only be mine.
So, quick recap of what's been going on all this while that I disappeared-
A good majority of the past 3-4 months were spent with Shreya freaking out about many a thing, including becoming homeless in Baltimore and working a shitty job while being frustrated and unable to find a better one in New York. So I freaked and freaked until I could freak no more, and finally, by the mercy of whatever was watching me go crazy, I got a job (make that 2; I finally had the chance to actually turn down an offer instead of them turning me down). So now I'm in NY and still homeless (crashing at Pavan's till I find my own), but quite happy. I'm still a little shocked at exactly how much time people here (including me) spend at work; try being in the office from 6:30am-7ish pm or something else equally insane. But, it's how it's done here, and the weekend fun more than makes up for lost time during the week (well almost... weekends are never long enough). But all in all, this is so much better than Baltimore!
Lets see what else.... I got a haircut, it's quite short now... haven't had my hair this short since 1st year. But I shall grow it out again b/c I've been having a penchant for long hair. And I get to wear casual clothes to work on Fridays, so I wear jeans and my UVA flip flops quite religiously once a week. I also get free breakfast (yay cereal+milk) and free lunch (yay seamlessweb) and free dinner (double yay seamlessweb) if I stay past 7:30pm, so it's like being on a mealplan again! and it's free!
What else what else... I think I've found an apt, I haven't signed the lease yet but I told the girl I'll be taking it and sent over half my paperwork... but then I was talking to someone at work and he completely scared me by saying how bad the location was... I mean, it's close to work but surrounded by sketchiness apparently... but I wonder, could any place in NY be nearly as sketchy as Baltimore was??? I think not. But we shall see.
Alright, that is all for tonight. My contacts are drying out which means I will tell myself to end this entry and get ready for bed but instead go on facebook for another half hour
Goodnight folks!

| 10 days till I'm homeless..
haha, I don't even care anymore. I'm just going to sit back and watch my life like it's a tv-show.

| ahhhhhhh! everything/everyone around me is changing and moving on and I don't want to be left behind all aloooone!!!
it's like whatever didn't hit me at graduation last year is coming around to take its toll now.
must find ways to keep my mind occupied with more productive thoughts...
also, must stop eating excessive amounts of watermelon at a time b/c my stomach is about to explode.

| A great dawn of realization has hit me.After 22 years of being an Indian quite well exposed to the world of hindi cinema, I just discovered that the two biggest female singers, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, who's names have been household names for over 50 years, are actually sisters...
I've been living in such ignorance this whole time. How did this fact have escaped me for so long!??! All I have to say is, thank god for wikipedia.

| Stolen from Paul's away message-
Passwords are like underwear. You shouldn’t leave them out where people
can see them. You should change them regularly. And you shouldn’t loan
them out to strangers.
