He finally released it! With about 150 people in attendance, Victor played a Hymnbook Concert this past Saturday night at the Church of Advent Hope. The first set included a medley of hymns from his CD, just him solo piano. The second set included an original song called "Sing," a lively spiritual, a tribute to lost loved ones, and a beautiful medley of "Come Thou Fount" and "(Yes) Jesus Loves Me." I think what really touched me the most was how openly he shared about his faith in God, and how the creation or the original playing of each of the songs came about... :) A little glimpse into the heart of Victor Lin. It was.. NICE.
So... I happen to have about 130 of these cds floating around my apartment (I have more storage space). LoL. They're $15 for 15 wonderfully arranged hymns (my personal favorite is "Be Thou My Vision" and I can sing along with every note of it ). Feel free to let me know if you'd like to purchase one, and I'll make sure it happens!
Thanks again to everyone who came out... I was not only blessed by the concert... but also by your presence and support! :) :) :)
a little battered.. a little weary... and destined to expire from this life... but still beautiful, still thriving, still hopeful, still standing tall... still treasured and loved... still thankful.
Ira Glass: The people on our staff who scored low, are feeling rather… they’re feeling rather terrible about it. What should I say to them? James Dabs (tester of testosterone): I hated to measure them, I just knew that would happen. It always happens….Well, they are what they are… Ira Glass: After our test James Dabs reminded me that it was important to remember that any individual person might not conform to the stereotypes as to who has higher testosterone. It’s not the final answer as to what you’re like. James Dabs: I tested a stuntman on a movie set once and he came out low in testosterone and he was terribly unhappy about being low in testosterone. The fact is he still was a stuntman and did all the work that other people couldn’t do. So he shouldn’t have been focusing on the testosterone. I think to focus on the testosterone is the wrong thing to do. Ira Glass: Now when you tried to convince him that he shouldn’t feel bad about it, did he find that persuasive at all? James Dabs: No, he was just unhappy. //both laugh
It's time to go a trip that doesn't involve weddings and family! LoL. (those are nice too of course)
My choir touring in the Czech Republic (with a possible concert in Germany and one in Austria!) this year in October 3-12. W00T!! ^_^ Here are the places we've booked concerts so far.....
