| | A study in the glow technique via Photoshop Thumbnails perhaps when I have the time, but for now I can provide links to my photobucket account.
1. Practice This is one of my favorite pieces because of my inspiriation and the calm feeling it seems to give. Though it needs work, I rather like the contrast of blue and red. Total time about 1.5-2.5 hours? I forget, but it was at night and I stayed up late hehe. I was initially focusing on the figure but decided to add a background as an afterthought.
2. Finished This piece took about 2.3/2.5 hours. The anime line drawing was constructed before hand, just from my head and without references. I followed through with the glow technique and chose to apply angular lines as opposed to curvilinear as most anime images have. The composition is rather bland and the doll like face is expressionless. Probably the most visually appealing but the least successful.
3. Another piece Though this was a good piece, considering I drew it from my head and was breaking away from anime but still using the glow technique, it works well on that account. But as for the use of colour and anything resembling a good image, this isn't successful. Moreso I consider it a sketch and a good practice piece. Time: 2 hours? |
