Tainted Rose

Standing underneath the moonlit sky,
I broke down to my knees and began to cry.
A tear dropped from my cheek to the ground,
Into a puddle of fears, making no sound.
As I wept, the puddle grew,
Clouded by tears and the new fallen dew.
No one was there to see me cry,
No one was there to watch me die.

As my life withered away,
The sun started to rise and begin the new day.
I melted into my puddle of tears,

Shadows Within

Shadows lurk within my mind,
my body,
my heart
Bleeding with sorrow
Chasing the shadows throughout.

Always one step ahead,
never getting caught,
believing,
hoping that the weight of the shadows will
finally lift and free my whole being.
I am able to smile again, to breath again

Shadows lurk around me now but never again
