| Wedding! This is the big week end! Our second oldest son is getting married!!! Kris is called into the ministry and I know his new wife will be a huge benefit to the work the Lord has called them! We have some wonderful friends here for the wedding and more are coming in. I would ask you all to pray that everting goes smoothly and that the Lord is glorified! This is the end of a beautiful courtship. Their first kiss will be on their wedding day. My in laws are not used to things like this so I pray this is a good witness to them. There will be some lost family members in her side as well. Please pray they will hear the gospel! thank you for your prayers, I will post photos when all is said and done! | | |
| Years half overToday is Calebs birthday! He is 17, hard to believe! He has sure done a lot of growing this year, but physically and Spiritually. I am proud of the young man he is becoming! So much has happened that I am sure I will leave a ton out. We had a wonderful time while Megan (One of Nancy's and now all of our friends) came to see us for 2 weeks. It was nice having another girl in the house for a while. She was a real blessing to all of us! We are busy getting last minute things done for Kris and Amber's wedding next Saturday! WOW in one week I will have 2 married sons! Another hard to believe thing!!! I am so blessed that they will both be close by at least for a while. Kris may be going back to Heartland Baptist Bible college next spring. We will see where the Lord leads. We are still looking for a pastor. We have a candidate here right now. He is nice but I am not sure he is the man for our church. Still praying........................ Oh for a family on fire for the Lord!!! I see all around me how even as Christians we have our views skewed by the world. Seems like I hear all the time how kids are an annoyance or that a woman just could not handle the kids so she went to work. Oh how it breaks my heart to hear people say that children get in the way. What a wonderful, awesome, blessing it is to have children!!!! There is a family we have met that tells their children that the oldest is the reason they had more children, but their 3rd child is the reason they are not having more children. Oh how upsetting that is to hear!! The first child is developing pride while the last child is developing a very poor self image, one of no value! How can these parents not see that??????? Babies are great (Lord you know I want several more!) but what a joy and blessing older children can be!!! Oh how we need to teach our children to stand strong for the Lord, we need to teach them share their beliefs, how to love others and treat them with value!!! It breaks my heart when young ladies do not see that their value comes from submitting to their parents so that later they can submit to their husbands! How wonderful it is to not just wear dresses or skirts but to truly embrace the wonderful blessing of being a "Lady with a capitol L" as my mom used to tell me. We do not have to be like men! We are not to be like men! PRAISE THE LORD!!!! We need to teach young men how to submit to their parents too, so that they learn to follow before learning to lead. We need to teach them that families do not just "know" what they should know, that is needs to be taught. We need to train the boys on how to teach others. We were sitting in the living room this past week and got out my lap top with e Sword on it and looked up verses about what is an abomination to the Lord. It was great and we need to look deeper. But ladies wearing mens clothing and men wearing ladies clothing is not just wrong, but it is an ABOMANATION TO THE LORD!!!! WOW Do you see how we as the world has changed that????? Did you know that an unbalanced life is also an ABOMANATION TO TJHE LORD, as is lying???? Wow we do not see things the same way as our wonderful Savior! I really want to study that more. I guess it is time I get off my hobby horse. See Megan I can up date! I made the cutes bath hand puppet this week and I will try to share that later this week. I will also share a photo of the quilt we are making for the newlyweds! We will have some out of town company this week, so that will be busy but fun! Nothing like a wedding to bring people to Oklahoma! HAve a blessed week end!! | | |
| Christmas is comingWell for some reason I am feeling that way. My 2 daughters and I have been busy with making Christmas gifts. We started a Bible study this week from Keepers of the Faith. It is the "Joy of Obedience". It has a lot of scripture memory as well as tracking of prayer requests and answers and skills for women to know. I guess with school out I have the crafting bug!!! My mom taught me how to do the Chicken Scratch. I love it!! Nancy and Hannah are busy working on cross stitch and even Micah is doing some plastic canvas (hey boys can make things too). I love making, giving and receiving home made gifts! I think there is so much to learn from working with your hands. We are also working on a quilt for Kris and Amber. In doing that I have found a lot of my UFO's from when I learned how to hand piece about 9 or 10 years ago. I am so bad about not finishing things. Another thing crafts are good for. So now I am renewing my desire to get some things done. Sales on our business site are slow, so I am working for the family. Back to the Bible Study. The scripture memory is hard for me. The girls have it down already but mom is struggling. LOL I am planning on making little cards and laminating them so I can have it with me. I need all the help I can get! Have a blessed week end! | | |
| how long has it been?????Ok, Megan here is an up date. I think you might be my only faithful follower! What will I do when you are here and not there to read my blog? Oh wait you will be living my blog! LOL!!! Ok, I may have mentioned that Nancy had a Dr.s appointment that was 2 hours way. Well it was suppose to be 2 hours I think for us it was closer to 2 1/2!!!! Nancy drove most of the way. We are not familiar with Tulsa so we were really out of our element! I got anxious when we missed the hyw we needed and did not know where we were so I took over the driving. We ended up leaving out 1 or 2 of the hyw' s that the map said we needed and still made it there. We did not find out why her bones and joints hurt but we did have a nice time together. We live in a small town so Tulsa is much bigger than we are used to. Neither of us like that type of traffic. I found out tonight that even people that go to Tulsa a lot still get confused. Looks like we are going back the first of July for a physical. We are busy getting ready for Kris and Amber's wedding in just over 5 weeks! YEAH!!!! Lots to do! You all have a blessed week! | | |
| votingWell I am very sad to say that our church did not vote Bro. Malcolm as pastor. It will for sure be our churches loss! HE was a man that was/is strong in his convictions, loves the Word of God and loves people! He felt this is where the Lord wanted him and his family to serve but some of the people were hung up on the fact that he expects the leadership in church to dress modestly. He expects women to wear modest skirts or dresses. the Lord has done so very much for us, is it too much to ask that we not cause others to stumble? That we show young ladies what it is like to dress like a lady, one of value. Not one that has to show off her body to have any personal worth? Our world is so full of wrong ideas. The people of our church that fought this were not young women, it is women in their 60's!!! So sad that they cannot give up pants for the Lord, He did after all give up His life for us!
Please keep our church and people in your prayers. If you know some church that needs a pastor, I can give you a great name!
Have a blessed week!
